A fun instrument

Bought this as my introduction into ukulele. Really liked the way it looked.
Out of the box it was really hard to tune and the sound was a bit hollow. After a while of regular playing the sound really improved and it was much easier to tune. Although it's never pitch perfect the overall sound is not bad and has a certain charm to it. Still enjoy the color and play it whenever I have a couple of minutes to spare.
The quality is not top notch, but is OK for the price. The tuning dolphins are a really nice detail, and work relatively well. The paint job holds up pretty well and is not easily damaged.
I would definitely recommend this instrument to a ukulele beginner. An intermediate player or advanced player should probably look for a more serious product. On the other hand this one looks so nice that you may be ready to overlook the pitch problems. The that comes with it is a nice addition, even though it does not have a shoulder strap.
All in all good value for price.

Die etwas teuerere "Billig-Ukulele"
jonX 07.12.2017

Nice little starter ukulele

The Instrument is made out of real wood witch was actually a nice surprise. Sounds good for the price (dirt-cheap) and plays nice enough. After all this is a real instrument, not a plastic toy. Only downside is that the finishing wasn't top grade (one of the two perloid decorations of the bridge securing screws was missing etc.) but hey that's just me complaining. The kids will love the design, at least my daughter did and easily forgive minor flaws or pay no attention to them at all.
