effortlessly transforms your photo tripod into a mic stand.
LutherD 11.05.2021
I have a bunch of these, to transform a range of photo tripods into mic stands.

I'm a field recordist, so I take my gear out to strange places sometimes, including rain forests, arctic tundra's, mountains, savannah, dunes, and cities off course.

normal mic stands are cumbersome in these type of places. and light mic stands can't really hold a stereo bar with two blimps. So the solution is to use photo tripods, which are much better suited to this rough terrain, are also a lot lighter (and when you need to hike 2 hours to get somewhere, that's important), and they easily fit into a bag that can travel with you on the plane. Their wider base (depending on which tripod), also provides stability.

But off course they come with the wrong thread, and these adaptors fix that. Using them I have put a range of blimps, stereobars with 2 blimps and other mike clamps on photo tripods. They fit together very well. Often not even loosening when you hike a while with the blimp attached to the tripod. (and using the quick release of a tripod, you can quickly seperate the blimp from the tripod).

I even use them on larger gorillapods to hold lightweight mics and hang them into trees.

Only problem might be that sometimes they fit a tad too well and you might have difficulty getting them off the quick release plate of the tripod again. but I have a leatherman or other pliers with me in those instances.

Use your camera tripod as mic stand!
cigilovic 13.03.2021
I bought this to solve a specific problem: I wanted to use my standard camera tripod as a microphone stand. I didn't really want to spend money on a mic stand as I don't have space for another stand. Instead, after having researched this issue, I found out that it would be very easy to convert my tripod to a mic stand.

It fits right into the clamp of t.bone MB85 Beta microphone and then I can mount it to a fairly standard camera tripod. Since I can't share links here, please search my nickname on Google and see how Manfrotto 088 works in this scenario with my detailed photos. Thank you Thomann :)

I'm using it to mount my Rode Blimp on a tripod. Works perfectly fine for that task.

Mt
Incredibly useful for microphones!
Mark the Harp 28.10.2021
I bought this specifically to use on a tall (4.5m) lighting stand, as it allows my to attach microphone bars to it for recording with mic arrays at a height. Really useful!!! And good quality too.
