Overpriced for what it is, but this should be the only fret removal tongs you'll ever need to buy.
Pros:
The narrow width is much more suitable than e.g. a fret wire snips or generic end cutters as it allows both blades to slip right in under the fret more easily and to prise a little up at a time without indenting the fretboard.
The elongated snout allows a soldering iron tip to gain access to the fret crown, to soften any glue underneath.
The mating tips of the tongs form a sharp wedge that's perfect to prise the fret up out of its slot.
The handle is spring-loaded to the open position with a roll pin to prevent it from opening too far. This makes it easier to work more quickly along the fret length with one hand.
Japanese precision engineering quality. For example, the mating edges meet perfectly squarely.
Cons:
The price. You could get away more cheaply with a custom ground end cutters.
This hand tool is designed as a generic top cutters, such as may be used for removing the heads from plastic rivets. This will probably not bother you in the slightest if you're a toolmaker or you're engineering minded, but some folks might prefer if it came packaged with "Fret Pulling Tongs" stamped on it and fret removal instructions.

Used it for the first time to pull 24 frets out of a rosewood fretboard and it worked great. Leaves no dents on the fretboard.

They're pricey, but they work eminently for pulling frets.
Unfortunately there was an error. Please try again later.
