softens attack nicely without killing it, beats muffling

I play often on a church kit, where people really don't like attack, so at louder volumes, sticks can be too much for them. Silly, I know, but I quite often play with those double-ended stick / mallet things for tom-intensive stuff, and for crashing, also for cymbal swells.
I thought I'd try these as an in-between, and I'm delighted. I'd say the attack is slighly more stick-like than mallet-like, but significantly softer; it's much better than muffling because the drum still sings, though there is a slight loss of overtones (not always a bad thing). Also works nicely for swells. I will be getting more.

Ce sont mes premiers maillets; je les utilise ponctuellement pour des intros pour créer une progression; c'est évidemment plus lourd que des baguettes classiques mais ça se manie bien et le son est velouté à souhait

Schon länger die passenden gesucht

Die Meinl SB 116 Percussion Mallets sind wirklich top verarbeitet bis ins Detail! Die Lieferung war auch extrem schnell. Da ich seit längerem Sticks mit kleinem (harten) Filzkopf gesucht habe, bin ich hier bei Thomann nun endlich fündig geworden. Ich setze sie am Schlagzeug ein, so wie ich es bei einigen Jazzdrumer*innen gesehen habe. Einfach sehr angenehm warm, denn man hört den Anschlag insbesondere auf Becken kaum noch. Wobei ich gerne auch leises Schlagzeug spiele..Einziger Punkt: Die Sticks könnten gerne etwas dünner sein, bzw in unterschiedlichen Dicken angeboten werden. Da ich die Sticks nicht permanent nutze gehts aber ;-)
