D
vibra slap is as vibra slap does
DIRTYFONK 07.07.2015
This is a decent product - it is a straight forward instrument and this one is well made. I don't have massive experience with vibra slaps, but i have heard them used a few times usually in a one off fashion as punctuation in a song, although when you experiment there are ways in which the sound may be controlled so that it could be feasible for a broader use building a pattern that does not drown out proceedings .
When i first played this i was a bit surprised that the sound was so low (compared to recorded vibra slaps i had heard before) - imagine the sound of Barry White as a rattlesnake and you're somewhere near it. That is not to criticise this Millenium VS200 it does what it needs to do and it has the unmistakable vibra slap sound, it has good presence - it is nice and loud and it is well made. I am looking forward to using it live and in the studio.

A
Interesting percussion instrument
AcaDorcol 20.12.2018
I use in ocasional for some latin style songs, but it is very effective for use during peaceful public protests by NGOnor during summer and carnivals, sports hapennings, public celebrations etc.
Pros: interesting rear music effect, easy to use by non proffesional player, even by kids, students, very good for educational purposes, easy to find instructional videos..
Cons: should be cearful to avoid dissasemble. Be cearful with wooden block and small metal parts if used by kids...

You hit it, it makes the brrrrrrrrrroing noise you expect it to. That's about all there is to it. I wish it didn't have a giant Millennium stick on the end (or at least put it on the bottom), but whatever.

R
great sound
Richard261 23.07.2013
I went through all the vibraslap sound samples available on Thomann, and concluded that this inexpensive item was the one I liked the best (maybe there was another, but it cost a lot more!)
The real life reality was just as good - rich and exciting. I am not experienced enough to know whether the sound lasts a long time compared to other vibraslaps, but it certainly has a decent length to it, and a nice slow decay.
The wood is a nice reddish colour. The size is not too big, so handy. The bell end tends to get a bit loose as the wing nut hodling it on does not have a self-grop washer. this can cause the bell to therefore twist round 90 degrees meaning, no sound as the metal insides have nothing to chatter against.
But overall, well worth the money.
