The best Tom Mounting System I know

Ordered this Optimount Holder to upgrade an old Sonor Force 2000 Tom. The old mounting system killed the sustain of my toms noticably. Now the sound is more what I want it to be. (Of course, more sustain doesn't always equal "better" sound. It always depends on what is required in a certain situation.)
Also, dividing the stress on the material (that results from mounting the drum) to four diferent points - two near the top, two near the bottom of the drum - seems to be a good idea.
Of course, the drum's freedom to move is not as big as with other systems that grab the hoops. But I think that is also more a pro than a con.
And I like the look of these holders.
They only match Pearl tom arms I think. But those are really good as well in my opinion. Try the TH900, good price and quality.
I have not yet tried the newer aluminum Optimounts but my guess would be these older steel ones work just as well and I will stick to these because of the price.
I can recommend the Optimount system.

Habe die Optimounts auf meinem Set als Ersatz für die viel diskutierte ISS-Tomhalterungen gekauft. Es handelt sich um ein älteres Pearl MBX Masters Set (Dünne Birkenkessel mit Verstärkungsringen).
Die Toms mit den Durchmessern 8"/10"/12"/14" sind nun deutlich stabiler auf meinem Rack fixiert, was ggü. den ISS-Halterungen allerdings kein Kunststück darstellt. Erfreulicher weise geht echt wenig an Resonanz und Sustain verloren. Natürlich nicht so, wie wenn man den bloßen Kessel in der Hand hält, aber durchaus bemerkenswert für ein doch ordentlich stramm fixiertes Teil.
Etwas enttäuscht war ich allerdings von der Stimmstabilität der Toms. Da hatte ich mir im Vergleich zur alten Halturung doch einiges mehr erhofft. Allerdings liegt das natürlich auch an den Spannreifen und der von mir geliebten mittleren bis tiefen Fellspannung.
Ich muss hier auch noch anmerken, dass die Halterungen ziemlich auftragen und ich Glück hatte, mir nur ein neues Case zulegen zu müssen.
Fazit: Grundsätzlich klare Kaufempfehlung.

Jag missförstod nog det hela när jag beställde. Köpte för en 12"-puka som är 10". Men jag insåg sedan mitt misstag. Det är pukans djup man går på. Modifierade det hela enkelt med en bågfil och sågade av dom kromade plattjärnen så passade allt perfekt. Det går nu att få ur bra mycket mer resonans ur trumman.
