Having previously used cheaper, non-proprietary snakes which seemed to become twisted & misshapen after just a handful of uses, on the guidance of an experienced tour engineer friend I invested in a couple of these snakes.

After around 20 live shows so far, they are in exactly the same perfect condition as when they came out of the box (bar the expected stage dust) and coil effortlessly at the end of every night.

Additionally, I've noticed that the quality of the XLR ends is well above average so that each connection is made with a satisfying and reassuring click.

The final touch, whilst simple, is very well received - the snake is fitted with a Velcro strap to tie up the snake without need of electric tape.

Initially we bought a few of these for a single event after establishing many of our mic cables didn?t do DMX reliably.

We found these coiled just as well, and worked just as well as a much more expensive competitor?s product. Our main reservation is that the connectors aren?t top of the range, but at the price we can afford to carry many many spares, so we do.

We liked them so much we bought a lot of them in different sizes.

Even at minimum wage we can?t make DMX cables this cheap and I am not entirely sure we can repair the shorter ones for less than they cost.
