Protec C-242 Gigbag for Euphonium

I acquired a vintage B & H Imperial Euphonium from an antique shop in New South Wales, Australia. The instrument came without the case or the mouthpiece so I was looking for a gig bag which could carry it. This gig bag from Protec is of a very high quality while fitting my budget well. As a soft gig bag, I think it is made to be very protective, as testified by the fact that my Euphonium hasn't been dented after it's been thrown around for more than a year now. I am also impressive by its generously sized side bag, which has plenty of room for oversize music scores, stationery and accessories. Some gig bags offer similar things but they are often too small to fit big music scores.

I also like the options between a single side strap and a pair of backpack straps. Though I have never used the latter, I think it is a very good feature for those who prefer carrying it this way, such as those who commute by bicycles.

Ware bestellt, 2 Tage später (den Feiertag nicht mitberechnet) war die Lieferung im Hause. Wie üblich schnelle Lieferung und die Ware war gut verpackt.
Die Tasche ist sehr gut verarbeitet und das Instrument lässt sich darin sehr gut transportieren auch weil die Tasche sehr leicht ist. Der Transport ist über 3 Wege möglich, entweder mit den Handriemen, dem Schultergurt oder als Rucksack.
Zunächst hatte ich bedenken wegen der Tasche, dass diese zu klein ist. Ich wurde eines besseren belehrt. Es passen mehrere Hefte, das dicke Choralbuch und auch Notenständer und Lampe rein. Wenn man die Rucksackgurte nicht in der dafür vorgesehenen Tasche liegen, kann man sogar hier noch einige Notenhefte reinlegen.

En primer lugar, cabe destacar su material ya que a simple vista se ve que es un material resistente al agua (comprobado de primera mano).

En cuanto a la apariencia exterior, está compuesta por un gran bolsillo lateral muy útil para guardar todo tipo de accesorios para el bombardino tales como aceites, boquillas, partituras, etc. Dentro de este gran bolsillo, encontramos un compartimento pequeño que nos sirve para almacenar pequeños objetos y un compartimento organizador de lapiceros y bolígrafos.

La bolsa tiene una agarradera de velcro muy útil para el transporte sobre una mano. La calidad de las cremalleras es algo a destacar ya que se puede observar que están fabricadas con muy buen material.

En la parte trasera de la bolsa, encontramos unas cintas para el transporte sobre la espalda, muy útiles a la hora de llevar nuestro instrumento cómodamente.

En el caso de que viajemos con nuestro instrumento, la funda viene equipada con un porta-etiquetas donde podemos incluir nuestros datos personales tales como nombre, dirección y número de teléfono para estar siempre localizados en caso de pérdida.

En cuanto al interior se refiere, la funda Protec C-242 está compuesta por un acolchado de unos 2 cm de espesor alrededor de la cobertura principal. Si bien esto es bueno para salvar los posibles roces que nuestro instrumento pudiera tener, en mi opinión no es suficiente para garantizar la seguridad total del instrumento contra posibles caídas, golpes, etc.

En resumen, es una gran bolsa para transportar eufonías con o sin compensación con un gran espacio para guardar todo tipo de útiles. Es una gran funda para el día a día.
