An entry-level array

The HDL 6-A is a compact and affordable line array module that is simple to set up and allows beginners to professionally supply sound "made by RCF" in small event locations. Most settings are already preconfigured, allowing good sound results to be achieved right from the get-go, and unlike other small line arrays, the HDL 6-A creates a fairly expressive sound experience across the bass and treble frequencies, all while maintaining a compact and lightweight design. Thanks to an optional special tool, ensuring that the system's wavefront reaches the audience doesn't even require rigging skills. However, those who prefer the benefits of a flying configuration can rest assured that the sturdy flying frame that is available as an optional accessory will meet their needs.

RCF HDL 6-A

Featherweight champion

With a maximum sound pressure level (SPL) of 131dB, each HDL 6-A is geared to provide plenty of sound pressure from 65Hz up to 20kHz. An optimised sound experience is ensured by a simple boost button for high frequency correction, while the waveguide made by RCF enables the treble frequencies to be heard particularly well with a defined horizontal radiation angle of 100° and a vertical angle of 10°. Driven by a two-channel digital amplifier that delivers 1400W peak and 700W continuous output, the two 6" neodymium woofers with 2" voice coils, together with a 1" neodymium compression driver with a 1.75" voice coil kicking in from 900Hz, are responsible for the HDL 6-A's precise sound fidelity, despite which the HDL 6-A still tips the scales at just 11.5kg.

A great sonic experience

With an RCF line array equipped with HDL 6-A modules, event organisers can deliver sound reinforcement for small venues, while enjoying all of the benefits of a genuine line array. Thanks to its high maximum sound pressure level, the woofer will withstand frequent use during live concerts, while at the same time ensuring clear voice reproduction for theatre artists, readings, and round tables in small venues. Above all, an HDL array with 6-A speakers ensures a quick and easy setup, with the straightforward user interface allowing effortless operation for beginners. Technical service providers can combine all these different uses of the array, and will certainly appreciate the weight of only 11.5kg per speaker. While on the road, the cluster size can in turn be quickly adjusted to fit each location.

About RCF

In 1949 the Italian manufacturer RCF began to manufacture microphones and expanded its portfolio in the 1950s with a variety of sound reinforcement products. With the creation of its own development department for loudspeakers, RCF was able to make a name for itself and became a supplier to numerous well-known loudspeaker manufacturers in the USA and Europe. In 1970 the firm began to market its own in-house built hi-fi speakers which have since become part of their product range. From 1980 onwards, RCF has also focused on audio amplification for motor vehicles. Since 1990 the firm has been, and remains today, one of the major suppliers in the professional loudspeaker market.

From pole dancing to flying high

Speaker clusters composed of just a few HDL 6-A modules and placed on a tripod are suitable for small venues. With the RCF Pole Mount HDL6, users can conveniently stack up to three HDL 6A modules on top of each other, even without any rigging skills. For a flying configuration, the RCD HDL 6 A Fly Bar Lite, which can accommodate up to 16 speaker modules and can be mounted with the RCF Adapter Clamp HDL6, will provide a suitable frame. What is more, the flying frame can also accommodate an optionally available subwoofer; RCF recommends the HDL 12-AS subwoofers since these have compatible dimensions. The number of sub-basses can consequently be adjusted to suit the respective musical genre.
