Want "plunk" and bass in your banjo tone!? This head will give a cheap banjo a big warm old-timey tone with lots of bass. You may have to tune it a bit tight to get your treble and volume back if you were running a stock frosted head. Great with steel string but not so good with nylons if you don't have an expensive banjo with tone ring.Just my humble opinion.

Great for nylon string banjo

Not only for that but pretty much every open back banjo i've played comes with the fiberskyn. It muffles the high end to resemble hide banjo heads, does a good job at that!
