Currently using as a resonant head on a floor tom. On its own it has a nice tone but too much sustain, so I added a gel damper on the inside surface which removed all of it while leaving the tone nicely intact, producing a deep and punchy undertone when paired with a coated Emperor on the top.

At this price though, I'd be happy beating on it all day long too.

Good alternative to Remo Ambassadors

The head fitted perfectly, tuning was a breeze & it sounds great. I would definitely recommend as a cheaper alternative to the normal Remo Ambassadors.

Günstige und gute Alternative Cheap and good alternative

Der Unterschied zum in den USA gefertigen "Original" ist subtil aber für geübte Ohren hörbar (behaupte ich). Da die Wahl der Schlagzeugfelle aber so einen enormen Einfluss auf den Klang des Intrumentes hat bin ich da sehr kritisch.

Die Encore Felle überzeugen mich als Resonanzfell fast komplett! Einen Stern Abzug beim Sound gibt es, weil ich die "Originale" für etwas transparenter und resonanter halte. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt hier aber absolut.

Gäbe es die Encore Serie auch als coated Emperor würde ich die sofort als Schlagfelle ausprobieren!

The difference to the "original" made in the USA is subtle but audible to trained ears (I claim). Since the choice of drum heads has such an enormous influence on the sound of the instrument, I am very critical. The Encore heads almost completely convince me as a resonance head! There is a star deduction for the sound because I think the “originals” are a little more transparent and resonant. But the price-performance ratio is absolutely right here. If the Encore series were also available as a coated Emperor, I would immediately try them out as batter heads!
