Practical patchbay module

The RockBoard MOD 3 V2 is a practical patchbay module for acoustic guitarists and vocalists, which consolidates all the necessary connections of a pedalboard in one central access point, thus shortening cable paths and providing users with a better overview of their entire effects setup. The MOD 3 V2 is equipped with an XLR input and two XLR outputs to provide a multitude of options for balanced audio signals, including a vocal setup with stereo effects. The module also comes with three jack connections as well as a DC and an AC IEC mains connection for delivering power to the multi-power supply under the board.

Flexible routing options

The jack connections (A-C) and XLR connections (1-3) on the RockBoard MOD 3 V2 are wired from the front to the rear of the module courtesy of the pass-through design, thus allowing various configurations. Vocalists can connect any microphone to the XLR input and use the XLR outputs to send the stereo signal from an effects processor on their pedalboard to a mixing console. Acoustic guitarists have the option of attaching a DI box to their pedalboard or even integrating delay and reverb effects into the effects loop of their acoustic amplifier.

For acoustic musicians and vocalists

The RockBoard MOD 3 V2 is the perfect enhancement for any pedalboard. As a flexible patchbay for TRS, XLR, DC, and AC IEC connections, it enables all connections to be organised in one convenient module and provides clearer and neater cable routes to the exterior of the pedalboard. The MOD 3 V2 is the ideal solution for vocalists looking to transmit a balanced stereo audio signal from their effects setup to a mixing console, but also for acoustic guitarists who use a DI box or rely on an acoustic amplifier for their performance. Both DC and AC IEC mains connections add the perfect finishing touches to the patchbay concept.

About RockBoard

RockBoard is a brand belonging to Warwick Music Distribution GmbH, which is based in Markneukirchen in Germany's Vogtland region. RockBoard's range focuses on pedalboards, which are available in numerous different designs to suit any application and budget, and are complemented by an extensive range of pedalboard accessories, from slick patchbays for expanding the boards and high-quality patch cables for loss-free connection through to high-performance power adapters and the "QuickMount system" for rapid effect changes. In short, RockBoard offers virtually everything that players need to easily set up their own individual pedalboard.

For mounting in MOD slots

Users of RockBoard pedalboards from the TRES, QUAD, and CINQUE series will ideally mount the MOD 3 V2 in the dedicated MOD slot, which is built into the front of the board and ensures a secure means of attachment. Alternatively, the front panel can be removed, allowing the module to be mounted on or underneath pedalboards using self-adhesive hook and loop tape. A robust MOD rack is also available from the manufacturer as an optional extra, which allows the module to be used with pedalboards from alternative providers and can be adjusted to accommodate different mounting directions and positions according to the design of the pedalboard.

Total disappointment

This is the reason of my bad evening.
Bought it to use with Rockboard pedalboard + Rockboard PSU. Looks cool, but that's all.
1. You have to do an screw-thread in the native pedalboard fof this thing by youself! Guys at the factory were very busy)) DIY!!!
2. It's patch-bay for the XLRs! Guess what?) XLR plugs do not fit in to the pedalboard holes!
3. Connected this thing to the native RB PSU. And it's very very noisy! Spend an hour looking whats the problem. It's this thing!!! Unpluged PSU fron this thing. connected PSU bypassing this thing, and it become less noisey!

Summary: This thing is patch-bay for xlrs, jacks and power.
You can not use this with XLRs and Rockboard pedalbords. You Can not use this with Rockboard PSU. This thing is useless. Waste of money(

I love it!
Love Rockboard 02.06.2021
Makes my board a lot neater and it looks cool too! Perfect for singer/guitarists (like me) or anyone that needs a few xlr ports on top of the normal jacks.

Extremely useful passive connections
Cian M. 23.12.2023
Needed this for a pedalboard build a few years back and have used it in a few different routing / signal chains since then.
The other rockboard patchbays look great too but this has the perfect connections for me. The Jack's being TRS for stereo or midi control is great. Makes routing a board with midi controls/foot controller so much neater and easier.
It is also nice for putting my amp foot switch, guitar signal and vocal mic outputs all within a few centimetres. Max setting up at the gig feel like no work at all.

Solid unit, decent range of I/O
Terrains 11.07.2024
I use this in a rack with the Rockboard 1U adaptor. Works great for rack inputs and outputs and covered almost all my connections. Two minor improvements:
1) It would be handy if the XLRs were reversible. I suppose they might be if you can get into the unit, but that's clearly not something Rockboard want you doing.
2) A space for your own labelling would be useful.
Overall very good. Solid build quality, connections all feel sturdy.
