Funky strings but not only.
VINK63 29.02.2020
Needless to say, what is already known, namely that Rotosound is a guarantee of total quality, like Thomann, which sells only quality products. These strings also cost little for the quality they offer.
Funkmaster were used by Mark King in the 90s, they weren't much considered by bass players, but believe me, they are excellent strings, ringing and soft, excellent scaling! Really superb.
These strings are useful for both funk and rock, but I also play Jazz, obviously setting the chain of instruments.
Pros: Light and soft to the touch, the sound rendering is exceptional.
Cons: personally nothing.

A
Best Funk Gauge strings around
Anonymous 24.09.2014
These are top quality stainless steel 30-90 gauge bass strings perfect for the Mark King sound. If fitted to a jazz bass you will get that sound with a little reverb and chorus added and low mids you will really get near to it. But the strings are the business and it is these that allow the bright harmonics and bends that you won't get on other strings. If you want funk then rotosound are the only strings to have. I don't use any other kind for that style. Truly brilliant and affordable price for the length of time they last. in fact Mark King uses these himself even these days and was instrumental in bringing this gauge into use during the early 80s when rotosound made the piano winding bass strings that was so unmistakable in their brightness and crystal clear highs, these are the next step on from that. They are truly excellent British made products. All of the range are gems

P
Positive!
ProgBass 18.10.2013
Rotosound have a great brilliant Sound, the highs will be away quickly and the strings develop their typical Rotosound Sound :)
Even better: at first you might think those strings are too thin and have no edge. That's wrong. Of course the g string somehow sounds like a guitar string and new possibilities in the sound are enabled.
But this effect is more than positive and the strings are really easy to play. You will ask yourself why you played the 105s for years and not tested those set much earlier!

Slap that bass!
JB-bass 21.01.2018
This set made it fun to play bass again, and really opened up for the slap/pop technique due to their playability and great tone!

The lightness of these strings lessens the workload on your fingers, which for me, made fast triplets fills and double thumb slapping a lot easier to master.

They are bright sounding and make it easy to hear each note through the mix, but they might also sound a little thin for some. That is quickly solved by boosting the lows on your bass or using a eq/pre-amp pedal.

I would recommend them particularly for funk/slap, but they are very easy to play and thus quite versatile for any style in my opinion. Considering the low price, these are now my new go-to strings!
