Rotosound PN11 Pure Nickels

Pleasantly surprised by these strings. I replaced a set of Thomastik Jazz strings with these. I really didn't get on with the Thomastiks - really unbalanced, dead things that are just... really odd. Maybe they're great on Jazz Guitars, but on my tele they sucked. Stringjoys are my goto brand, I tried these as a bridge until I can get some more Stringjoys and they are really decent! They're bright and full of life without being harsh on the ear, they feel clean and balanced (no obvious annoying overtones), not quite up to Stringjoy standards, but nothing really is. These are really good strings, really enjoying them, they pair well with a tele, reasonably priced. Definitely worth trying on your instrument. Good purchase! They're only 4 stars in comparison with the very very best (which are about twice the price by the way, so... I would have gone 4.5 if I could have!)

BKP pickups turned me on the Rotos, as you get a set of 10s with every pickup purchase. I noticed they’re softer and with less tension than D’ads and even EBs. I didn’t expect the pure nickels to feel softer as D’Addario usually reduce the size of the wounds to compensate for the possible extra tension, but I was wrong. These are lovely to play, soft and warm. I put them on a Les Paul and old SG with vintage pickups. Result: a lovely warm resonant tone which are relatively soft under the fingers…very nice strings indeed.

Die Rotosound 11er Nickelsaiten wurden mir von einem befreundeten Berufsmusiker als "DIE Saiten für eine Tele" angepriesen. Das Klang verlockend und einen Test wert.

Natürlich war ich 11er Saiten gegenüber erstmal skeptisch. Vorher hatte ich 9er auf meiner Tele und auch meine anderen E-Gitarren sind maximal mit 10ern ausgerüstet. Umso größer die Überraschung beim ersten Anspielen: Die Saiten spielen sich butterweich, Bendings fallen mir sogar LEICHTER als auf einer meiner Strats mit 10er Saiten! Und der Sound, besonders auf den tiefen Saiten ist wirklich fett - genauso, wie man ihn sich von einer Tele wünscht.

Die Haltbarkeit kommt mir zumindest länger vor, als die der Ernie Ball Rock'n'Rolls, die ich zuvor auf der Tele hatte und ähnlich lang, wie die Haltbarkeit der GHS David Gilmour-Saiten die ich sonst öfters verwende.

Alles in Allem werde ich die Rotosounds wohl auch weiterhin für meine Tele verwenden und sicher auch mal auf anderen Gitarren testen. Von mir aus eine klare Empfehlung, auch an Kollegen, die sich bisher noch nicht an 11er getraut haben ;)

Utilisation
J'utilise ce jeu sur les 2 guitares qui sortent le plus en concert pour garder un tirant homogène (le 10-52 sur une tele étant un peu too much pour moi) tout en aillant une corde de mi aigu qui ait une espérance de vie supérieure.

Avantages
Les rotosounds font parfaitement le job, je n'ai pas assez de recul pour donner un avis objectif sur leur qualité mais elle est clairement au niveau des ernie balls voire un poil supérieure sur la durée du son "cordes neuves".
Si tu joue habituellement sur du 10-46 c'est ce qu'il te faut si tu aime la répartition des tirants mais que tu trouve que l'ensemble de ton jeu est mou et qu'il t'est impossible de finir un concert avec un seul jeu.
Emballage totalement étanche avec en plus un sachet déshumidificateur qui garantie la conservation des cordes, c'est con mais c'est fou tout le monde ne le fasse pas! (pour les tirants en 10-52 il y a aussi une corde en 10 de rab)

Inconvénient
C'est vraiment pour donner un mauvais point mais il est vrai que l'emballage corde par corde permet de trier les cordes que tu réutilise en rechange après un changement de jeu. M'enfin c'est un détail!
