Super ugly new logo!!

I didn't have the space for a grown up china cymbal so i needed one that came closest and this one is the winner! I'm glad it is a HHX Evolution because most of my other cymbals are:).

The sound is.... Smooth! Not too harsh, not too sharp, more body than you'd expect from 14 inch... Not too pengy/clangy, no, more washy. but...

SABIAN HAS GOT A SUPER FRIKKING UGLY NEW LOGO!!
And because of the upside-down usage that INSANELY STUPID LOGO stares at me!
So bad that i decided to play the cymbal the original way and i have to say: It is better like that!

I moved my Ozone 18 to the other side so no i'm looking for an 18 HHX china but there's no Evolution available. And it looks like i have to hang the logo downwards... Stupid Sabian-assholes...

What's the most important logo on a Sabian cymbal?

No, not "Sabian".
It's "HHX"!
AND THAT SIDE NEEDS ALWAYS TO BE ON TOP!

Que peut on dire d'une cymbale si parfaite, elle vaut carrément sont prix, je referais cet achat si il le fallait, je l'est utilisé en studio, je ne cessais de m’émerveiller devants!

Petit bonus, elle est beaucoup plus épaisse que ce que je croyais, j'imagine qu'elle sera plus résistante, et ça c'est bien

Ich nutze das China als Ergänzung zu meinem bestehenden Sabian Evolution Beckensatz. Als direkten Vergleich holte ich mir noch das Sabian AAX 12" China ins Haus und zog mein altes Meinl 18" Classics China hinzu. Man muss sich erst an diesen trashigen Klang gewöhnen. In der Tat klingt ein China fürs ungeübte Ohr erst mal nur wie Lärm. Aber bei diesem Evolution Mini China wurde mir schnell klar, dass hier die Klangbandbreite enorm ist. Wo die beiden Vergleichskandidaten erst bei kräftigerem Anschlag "gut" klangen, formt das Evolution bereits bei niedrigerer Anschlagsstärke interessante, brauchbare Sounds, z.B. um es auch als Ride zu verwenden. Man muss allerdings hinzufügen - bei voll ausgespielter Lautstärke wird das Ding dermaßen laut, dass ein Gehörschutz unbedingt zu empfehlen ist. Ein wenig leiser wäre in der Tat angenehmer. Es sticht somit auch ziemlich aus meinem Beckensatz heraus. Optisch ist es (wie alle Evolution) der Hammer.

I use the China as a supplement to my existing Sabian Evolution cymbal set. As a direct comparison, I brought the Sabian AAX 12" China into the house and added my old Meinl 18" Classics China. You have to get used to this trashy sound. In fact, to the untrained ear, China just sounds like noise. But with this Evolution Mini China I quickly realized that the sound range here is enormous. Where the two comparison candidates only sounded "good" with a stronger attack, the Evolution creates interesting, usable sounds even with a lower attack force, for example to use as a ride. However, you have to add - at full volume the thing gets so loud that hearing protection is definitely recommended. A little quieter would actually be more pleasant. So it stands out quite a bit from my cymbal set. Visually it (like all evolutions) is awesome.

Das 14" Mini China ist super flexibel einsetzbar. Es reagiert sowohl auf leises Anspielen mit feinen Nuancen, als auch auf lautes Hämmern mit kraftvollem Sound. Zusätzlich kann man es mit verschiedenen Becken auch als Stack kombinieren: z. B. mit dem 12" Splash als 2. Hihat oder auf einem 18" Crash als Stack. Die Soundkombinationen sind super. Für mich ist dieses Becken eins der am vielseitigsten einsetzbaren Becken überhaupt.

The 14" Mini China can be used very flexibly. It reacts both to quiet playing with fine nuances and to loud hammering with a powerful sound. You can also combine it with various cymbals as a stack: e.g. with the 12" Splash as a 2nd hihat or on an 18" crash as a stack. The sound combinations are great. For me, this cymbal is one of the most versatile cymbals ever.
