The sound of this beautiful Log Drum is superb. Although Thomann offer the best price I have found on the internet so far, I do wish they were a tad cheaper as they are so beautiful to work with especially when working with challenging behaviour and special needs groups. As a community musician I find these particular Log Drums highly accessible to both absolute beginners and people who have more experience musically. I find at my workshops people are automatically drawn to the sound of these drums as they have a beautiful soulful resonance. I will expand my collection for definate. I have already bought the 60P82, and the 45041 and also the 60P80 (waiting for delivery). I really would love the 60101 log drum so fingers crossed. Overall, extremely happy with the purchase and superb customer service also.

This tongue drum is a superb quality instrument, with a crisp and responsive Padauk top and fir side and base. The finish is immaculate and the felt feet support the instrument without allowing sound to be transmitted to the surface it is standing on. The beautiful reddish colour of the Padauk will retain it's colour if it is protected from daylight when it is not being played, otherwise it will turn a dark brown.

this is a very pleasant log drum to play. the sound in players perspective is deep and inspiring. very suitable as a standalone instrument as well as in jamming.
you would need to amplify it in the last case. cause it is not as loud as most acoustic instruments.

Can’t believe I bought this so long ago and still haven’t rated it. Bought in 2010 and it’s still great. Only problem is it isn’t tuned to standard pitch so can’t play in ensemble..
