L
great monitoring headphones for studio and in the field, shame about the cable.
LutherD 06.02.2022
I'm a sound artist and field recordist, and I use these headphones both in my studio and in the field.

The sound is what you expect and love from Sennheiser headphones: clear, neutral and full of detail. On top of this, these cans have a lot of isolation, minimising bleed from outside so you can focus on the sound you want to listen to, even at lower volumes (and hence save your ears). Especially in the field this isolation is very welcome. It also makes them good tracking headphones.

The over ear design makes them very comfortable to wear, even for longer periods of time (hours in a row).

My one gripe with these headphones is the cable. They have a little bit of coil to minimise contact noises, and for the rest it's just a normal cable of adequate lenght. However, I found that this design doesn't allow me the flexibility of a fully coiled cable, and when used in the field, the cable (and the small bit of velcro you can use to wrap up the cable) quickly gets in the way of many of your movements. And it doesn't really diminish the contact noises that much. It's for this reason that lately I've left this headphone at home, and choose to use my HD280 instead. It has a very similar sound and practically just as much isolation, but the coiled cable of the HD280 makes it just a lot easier to use (short connection for most of the time, but can stretch to quite a distance when needed). While the cable of the 300-pro is replaceable, unfortunately Sennheiser does not make a fully coiled cable for this headphone.

J
I spend many hours searching for the right headphones for me.
JODK 05.09.2019
Having been very inexperienced in music production I felt I needed to do a ton of research before deciding what was right for me. I eventually ended up on these headphones having watched several reviews and reading a few articles. I have never looked back, these headphones are absolutely perfect for me, the quality of these headphones is amazing for the price, Sennheiser focus on their "neutral" sound, and I am very impressed with the results. I use these in tandem with my Scarlett 2i2 when at my computer, however I also use them with Spotify when out and about.

These headphones are absolutely amazing and I would recommend anyone who's not an expert in music production, they are my pride and joy and I am so glad I bought them.

Pros:
Very Neutral and clear
Filters out loud noise and prevents headaches
Extremely comfortable
Replaceable cord

Neutrals:
The headphones are able to bend in many ways that make it more compact, however they feel like they may come loose after a while of use.

Cons:
While there are probably some cons, there were none I could think of that would prevent a purchase.

If mixing, use bad headphones too.

H
Sennheiser sound, but thight fit
HookS 07.01.2020
I bought the Sennheiser HD-300 pro for daily use in my studio. The sound is classic Sennheiser, clear and defined. If you like the sound of the HD-25 you will definitely like these quality headphones.
I like the thight fit of these cans, but I have noticed that it is not to everyones liking. So if you like your headphones to sit loose, these are not for you.
Overall I like the Sennheiser HD-300 pro and would recommend them to everyone looking for a close-backed pair of headphones.

B
Great budget studio headphones
BiRmOoN 10.12.2019
I use the Sennheiser HD-300 Pro in my home studio, and It is a great pair of headphones.
It's comfortable, it sounds great, and the build quality is very good. I also love the protection feature that blocks the headset from reaching levels of volume that can damage one's ear.

Pros:
A fair and rather low price.
Good isolation and sound quality.
Sits well on the ears.
Keeps your ears safe.

Cons:
For the price, none.

I would recommend these headphones for anyone looking for a good pair of closed-back studio headphones for a low-medium budget or for a beginner, although if you got the money for it, there are more expensive ones that will do the job better.
