Best Mic EVER!
Singerrach 02.05.2017
I love this mic, as a female singer with a powerhouse vocal it can handle everything i give it! Its perfect for the softer stuff too as it doesn't pop! Its perfect for my mic technique which is up close but it lends itself every situation, you really have to push it get feedback and as a live mic its all about the voice x I love this microphone i tried out many across all price ranges and yes this wasn't the cheapest but its perfection. Very easy to eq on any desk. If your a singer get one.

Plastic❓

OK, it's plastic & expensive too.
First impression when tested @ home, was massive available volume w'out feedback (in the kitchen) , almost zero handling noise and very natural voice, with very little EQ needed, which makes a very good mic very good.
The mic feels good in my hand, even though it's plastic. The mic stand yoke works perfect, easy & silent mic mounting and dismounting.
The cardioid shape is very accurate, so its easy to control the songs with shouting parts in them by simply moving the mic sideways or up or down by 3-5 cm. The open/close switch is smooth, silent & perfectly positioned, I use it plenty between numbers. A bass cut would be nice, but the mixer has that, s'pose it's OK w'out.
The whole md431 mic/sono really comes to life at the venue/gig, with "massive" available gain before feedback and very clean voice right to the limits of the slider pots, so I can now hear my vocal expressions over & above the whole band and this mic doesn't collect much other on stage noise.
A new experience for me, not needing carburant to keep my voice running smoothly.
I have never paid more than €200 for a mic before, this is a big € jump for me, but I think it's an OK jump for the results I'm getting.
I'm pleased to have/use this mic, even though it's plastic.
Thomann got it here in 3 days 👍

J
Excellent Quality!
JessicaF 10.06.2015
This is quite possibly the highest quality microphone I have ever experienced! I was torn between buying yet another Shure SM58 or a higher end microphone - but this microphone is perfect for me. The sound is noticeably flat - a key selling point for these Sennheiser microphones. There is no frequency "boost" in the higher frequencies. This is great news for our sound engineer, as it gives much more opportunity to carve the sound at the desk. The second best thing about this microphone is it's pattern - never have I used a handheld microphone that is so directional! Since buying this microphone, we have eliminated nearly all our feedback problems, which is like a dream come true. Throughly recommended!

A
Great performer
Anonymous 31.01.2015
Pro-act of 20+ years:
Bought this mic to replace beyerdynamic m88tg, which I still have, and is a crackin' mic to be fair, and there is noticable, but subtle differences to the ear when performing.
Pros: sonically excellent generally, lightweight, very clear in live performances
Cons: Never liked on/off switch on pro mics, overpriced in my opinion, * have occassionally experienced slight distortion/booming when close up (*at high volumes)
Overall I'm happy with the Mic, but might just give the beyerdynamic m88tg a tidy-up refurb :-)
