Dual-band wireless set with pedal receiver

The Shure GLXD16+ is a digital wireless system for instruments. One of the special features of this system is its receiver, which comes in a pedal format, and the dual-band design can be operated both cost and licence-free as it works in the 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz frequency ranges and has a transmission output of 10mW, which provides a range of up to 60m. The system's automatic frequency management technology means that it always selects the signal frequency with the best reception, and the system can also switch to interference-free carrier frequencies automatically during operation without any loss of audio signal. The scope of delivery also includes a rechargeable lithium ion battery for the transmitter, an instrument cable, and a case made of durable EVA.

Convenience is king

The Shure GLXD16+ digital wireless system outputs an instrument signal via a 6.3mm jack socket. The system additionally includes a USB-C interface to make firmware updates easy to install. Convenience is also the name of the game when it comes to charging the lithium ion battery, which can be carried out via the transmitter's USB-C connection. In addition to indicating which group and channel is active, the information provided on the receiver's display when the system is in receiver mode also includes the battery level in the transmitter and various status-related data. All necessary parameters relating to the internal tuner are then displayed when the system is set to tuner mode. Even if only one transmitter can be used with the receiver at once, it is still possible to couple it with two transmitters simultaneously, allowing the user to change microphones or instruments much more quickly.

For beginners and advanced users

The Shure GLXD16+ system's simple and intuitive operation also makes it a good choice for newcomers to the world of wireless systems, but its design and features, such as the robust metal construction of the transmitter and ground receiver, and its ability to withstand frequent transport and stage use, also make it an interesting proposition for more advanced users who plan to use it frequently. Those looking for an easy-to-use wireless system that can be operated with up to 16 transmission paths at once can do this by utilising the 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz frequency bands simultaneously. Alternatively, up to eleven receivers can be operated at the same time using just the 2.4GHz setting.

Shure GLXD1+ bodypack transmitter

About Shure

The American company Shure began developing microphones during the early 1930s and is one of the pioneers of the audio engineering sector. Models such as the 55 Unidyne - known to many as the "Elvis microphone" - and the SM57 and SM58 which appeared in the mid-1960s are still ubiquitous in live sound production today. They enjoy cult status among musicians and technicians alike. In the 1990s, Shure introduced the first wireless microphones and in-ear monitoring systems and became a market leader in this field. In addition to microphones, Shure offers a wide range of earphones and headphones for studio and live use, as well as various accessories.

A tireless performer with plug-in facility

The Shure GLXD16+ is a versatile wireless solution with a bodypack transmitter that is not restricted to operation with instruments, but can also be used in conjunction with lavalier and handheld microphones, headsets, and even with other stationary receivers belonging to the system. Guitarists who perform for particularly long periods, for example in Top-40 bands, can look forward to up to 12 hours of operation on a single battery charge, and the battery level indicator makes it easy to see when the next recharge is needed. Although the receiver's 9V power requirement allows it to be seamlessly integrated into a typical pedalboard and use the installed power distributor, players can also use the receiver directly in front of an amp input. Anyone wishing to forgo the wireless function in certain situations can also connect their instrument directly to the receiver by cable and, in doing so, still gain access to the receiver’s tuner.

Rock Out Without Limits

First off, the sound quality is killer. It's crystal clear, with no annoying interference messing up your tunes. Plus, the digital setup means you can roam around the stage without worrying about losing signal. Total freedom, baby!

here's the really cool part – it's got a built-in tuner. Yeah, you heard that right. No need to lug around a separate tuner anymore. Just plug in, tune up, and you're good to go.

Say goodbye to cables and hello to wireless freedom. Trust me, you won't regret it.

After buying the new Shure GLXD16+ my first live show was at an outdoor festival. For the whole performance, a drone hovered over the audience at the front of the stage. Not once did I experience drop out or anything odd.
Since then I've gigged it several times and it's proven 100% reliable, incredibly easy to use and set up, and extremely well built.
I'd have absolutely no problem recommending this wireless system.

The best I've had so far!

Usually my wireless receiver is on top of amp with a cable to the pedalboard and then one back to the amp, but with this there’s just one wire going back to the amp. The real added bonus for me is that the battery for the guitar pack is rechargeable using USB-C, so no more 9V batteries and no more power outages mid-gig!

The pedal receiver is larger and heavier than expected but also extremely well built and sturdy. It was really easy to set up using the videos from Shure and was playing through it in about 5 mins. The sound is great through it and it fits nicely on my pedalboard. I have used it in my house and at one practice so far but I’m really impressed with the clarity and range, as well as one less cable. This will definitely be making it’s live debut very soon

Definitely recommend

I knew this wireless transmitter would be better than the cheap versions I have tried, but it is next level good. The clarity and crispness shine with this system. I can't believe how good and clear it sounds. Seriously cannot tell the difference between this system and a guitar cord. Probably the best wireless out there for the money and convenience of a pedal. Easy to use, rugged, sounds great, and has every feature you can think of. The system is plug and play! Set the receiver on the board, charge the transmitter and link the two... DONE. Great 'cabled' tone and super easy to use. Nice that I no longer worry about dealing with cables!
