Powerful beam moving head

The Stairville B2R Beam Moving Head is characterised by its particular brightness and a remarkable number of professional features that users would normally expect to find in beam moving heads of a higher price category. With its sharp, narrow beam and wide variety of colours, this deco light is not only perfectly suited for medium-sized venues but also sufficiently powerful to stand out even on larger stages. What is more, the Stairville B2R Beam Moving Head offers a wide range of effects and allows virtually unlimited variations thanks to its prism and a gobo wheel with no fewer than 15 static gobos. The moving head’s pan and tilt movements are very quiet, which makes this stage light a good choice for low-noise settings as well.

Featuring a prism wheel and plenty of gobos

The Stairville B2R Beam Moving Head, which requires a power supply of 150 watts, is capable of setting precise light accents thanks to its narrow 3° beam angle, and the 132-watt discharge lamp can be rotated by 540° horizontally (pan) and 270° vertically (tilt) at variable speed. Alongside a colour wheel comprising 14 colours plus white, the Stairville B2R Beam Moving Head features a gobo wheel with 15 static gobos and an open position. Thanks to motorised focusing and an effects wheel with a rotating eight-facet prism, users are provided with a wide range of options for creating impressive lighting effects. This moving light offers two control modes, i.e. 13 DMX channels and a display with buttons on the base unit, and it can be placed directly on the stage floor or suspended in a lighting rig.

Powerful effects beam for medium-sized venues

The Stairville B2R Beam Moving Head is particularly suitable for medium-sized stages. Club owners and rental companies can choose between placing it in the backdrop or suspending it in a rig using the omega brackets that are included in the scope of delivery. Featuring an impressive range of effects, the versatile Stairville B2R Beam Moving Head makes a convincing case in just about any setting. It is the ideal effects light for comedy stages thanks to the head’s very quiet movements, but also for party events, where its music control features allow light shows to be easily synced with the beat on the dance floor. Thanks to its low weight of just 8.9kg and a carrying handle on each side, this moving light can be flexibly repositioned in multi-functional venues depending on the specific requirements of an event.

About Stairville

Since it was introduced in 1994, Thomann’s in-house brand Stairville has been a permanent fixture in the store’s product range. The brand primarily focuses on the field of stage lighting in general, and its products include spotlights, moving lights, and theatre lighting as well as smoke machines, electronic control systems, and every other accessory you can think of. Thomann constantly has around 1,600 Stairville products on offer, and the figures speak for themselves: Statistically, one in every fifteen Thomann customers owns at least one Stairville product. Incidentally, the name "Stairville" is also a catchy English translation of "Treppendorf", the town that Thomann calls home.

Matching light shows for music videos

Bands who are looking for a budget-friendly, high-quality lighting solution for their own video productions can simply direct two Stairville B2R Beam Moving Heads towards the wall behind the musicians to complement their songs with matching light effects in the background. All they have to do is connect the two beam moving heads with each other using a DMX cable, select one of the nine automatic programmes via the menu buttons on the first light, and set the second light to the master-slave operating mode. If the beam moving heads are to rotate in opposite directions relative to each other, the pan and tilt directions can also be reversed via the slave unit. This setup allows different chases and speeds to be flexibly set for each individual song without the need for an external lighting control desk, so bands can create a wide variety of lighting effects to match each individual song with just a single camera position.

this moving head is very bright with a very robust housing.

the fans are noticeable but in a club you want notice anything.
i already bought 12 of them and had never complained so far.
the only down side is that would be excellent if it had a frost filter.

but in general it is a great fixture.

Some of the best value moving heads available.
heyimdan-dan 16.11.2024
These are excellent lights and fantastic value for money. I have purchased 12 in total for my live sound business.

Having only 13 channels is very useful, compared to some lights that have over 20. This makes getting the same effect with less effort so much more achievable. They are extremely bright and will fill venues of 2,000-3,000 easily if you programme in large sweeping effects.

The moving heads do make a little noise, but in a typical rock and roll environment you wouldn’t really hear them anyway. I haven’t had an experience where their noise is being picked up by microphones, and if you’re using gates and expanders on things like a drum kit you probably wouldn’t pick up most of this noise between songs.

Being able to daisy chain these with Powercon connectors is great, with power and XLR signal cables provided by Thomann. The omega clamps are a bit tricky to fit by hand and you’ll need a gripping tool of some kind to apply them and remove them. The supplies G-clamps are more than adequate and fit 50mm truss.

The colours are excellent and very vibrant. I find the dark blue looks more of a UV shade. The whites are very bright and the beams very tight and narrow.

The only downside is the limited gobo shapes. It may have been more useful to throw in a few stars, some circles, an X here or there. Some of the shapes are bit difficult to pick out. However, that’s my only complaint.

We’ve got 12 of these now and they’re undoubtedly the best value for money discharge beam available when you factor in the Thomann support.

I’ve seen a few comments regarding fans but this hasn’t been an issue.

Cheaper than RXONE
JJ F 15.09.2023
These are decent units, iv ran these outside for weeks and they work flawlessly.
Iv only had 1 lamp break out of 8.
And they are bright enough for large stages.
They are pretty on par with the RXone from adj but just cheaper.
