A Smart Tin Can
Anonymous 03.04.2014
This can is a great little fixture. In the 15 years I've been doing lighting, I have only even seen this style of par 36 once before (par 36's are normally pin spots used for mirror balls) so when I saw this can style 36, I just had to get a couple.
I live in the UK so had to cut German plug off but that only took 2 seconds so no big deal.

Great output for so few LED's. Light is well made and well designed. You can control the fixture via the dip switch on the back but this is very limited so if you want more than a preset colour, colour scroll or music, you will need a controller.
Comes with gel frame for frost or diffusion filters, which brings me on to the only downside to this light, the colour frame is an octagon instead it square. But that's just me being fussy :P

Bottom line. If you want to add some light to your gigs without spending £100's or £1000's. Get a couple of these with a small controller and you'll be laughing.
I just hope Thomann keep these in long enough for me to buy another 6.

Thanks for the great service again Thormann :D

Good light!
Wal234 07.01.2022
I have had four of these pars for six years, no issues, good light. For a band playing pubs, clubs these will easily do the job. Brighter than you think, good coverage, and rich colors.

Sound to light is not the best, too sensitive, even when at its lowest setting, however, possibly ok in low to medium-level gigs. Use a Dmx controller (it is how you get the best out of these lights) although be aware, ch1 is not Red, many controllers are fixed 1R,2G,3B..... and this light will not work correctly. I use Adj Operator 1 192, there are so many good copies (for not much money) of this unit and give you everything you require.

You may also be interested, four of these on a T bar fit into a padded keyboard bag, perfect for travel, good protection.

LED PAR 36

These lights were bought as part of a lighting kit and at a total of around £100 for 4 lights and a stand, it was great value.

the lights themselves are of OK quality. They are nice & bright and easy to program. These are used every weekend for band lighting (pubs/clubs) and get transported around in the boot of a car - so far, no issues.

I recommend these lights but you need to understand that they are cheaply made - you're not buying top-of-the-range kit here. For the money, they are well worth investing in, if you are on a tight budget.

Good starter for 10

Not a bad set of lights. We have a bar of 4, complimented by other lights. Some of the LED groups have failed over time but they've been a good set.

They're really compact, so the light output's not on par with larger cans (pardon the pun) ... but that's what you expect with cans of this size.

All in, worth having ;) great little filler lights.
