I provide PA and lighting for various bands as well as providing PA for various live music events both indoor and outside.
A band setup always looks better with the drum kit on a platform and in a packed hall being at the back of the room trying to keep an eye on the performing band was sometimes a challenge.
I opted to purchase 4 1m square sections to suit both of my needs.
I chose the height adjustable legs for use outside on un even ground.
Indoors, I set the legs to the lowest height, 40 Cms, perfect for a drum platform.
I can set the platform up within 10 min and the space it creates underneath is ideal for storing all that equipment you need to hide on a busy stage.
Outside, setting up on un-even ground takes a little longer however once you've done it a couple of times it's relatively straight forward.
Pros:
On stage the setup looks very professional, very quick to set up. For use as a front of house platform to mix from, it makes a massive difference. To have a clear view of the stage is a must with a busy band.
Cons:
The platforms themselves are not heavy however they are bulky.
In shipping, a couple of the edges of the units were dented however not enough to want me to return them for exchange.
There are other versions of platform around, however if you want a flexible system that quick to set up both indoor and outside this takes some beating.
