Epic sound for price!
Burtezz 14.02.2018
Short version:
I own this headset for a few months now.
I've bought it for gaming and music.
The sound is by far the best aspect of the headset.
Build quality is poor, comfort is acceptable.

Longer version:
Upon opening the package the elastic bands from the headrest were broken (first one, during investigating the other one broke to)
Thomann offered warranty repair, but I didnt want to send it back and be without a headset for weeks, so I repaired it myself. I disassembled the headset, replaced the rubbery elastic component with metal wiring. This leads me to "build quality".

The build quality is absolutely poor, it rattles, plastics are cheap and it feels a flimsy. But what do you expect from a <50EUR headset. The cable and mute/volume button on cable seem decent. The strain reliefs seem decent to. Internally the wiring is a bit messy, but I cannot compare it to another headset. I chose sound over build quality.. Which brings me to sound.

The sound is very crysp. The frequency range is very broad. I do not have audiophile hardware to test it on, but the soundcard on my PC generates decent sound (AAC / FLAC music). I like deep bass (not overpowered, but deep), this headset provides it. I like those relaxation sound clips (e.g. jungle and whales) and movie soundtracks. I wear it quite a lot and can recommend this headset simply for its sound only. Wearing means comfort...

The wearing comfort is average. Its light, that is good. But the earpads are of fake leather. I'ts still winter, but it can become sweaty allready... Its not a big issue. I have not found velours earpads of 11,5cm in diameter yet, but its recommended to spend the extra few EURO's.

I have not tested it anyway, my review is therefore completely subjective. I do have an above average interest and I think also an above average "ear" for audio quality.

Much sound for the money
johanwande 03.01.2018
Update: The controls for volume and mic is a joke. The switch for the mic has zero quality and is switched off by mistake all the time. The volume wheel is loose and sometimes there is no sound in the right headphone because of this. End update.

I alredy owned the Superlux HD 662B and hoped to replace them with these for daily computer use and some gaming.

Audio quality is good for the money, beats all gaming phones I've tried audio vice. Bass is very heavy, heavier than on the HD 662B. But the stereo balance is off by a bit to the left. I suspect the volume controller might cause that, but its easily adjusted in software/hardware.

The build quality on these are not as good as the HD 662B. Still they are OK, but no premium feeling. The head adjustment strap was loose/broken when the phones arrived, so I opened them up (1 screw) and saw that a rubber band was hanging loose, fixed it with a knot and it works OK. The volume wheel doesnt turn the audio completely off (almost on the right ear but not on the left). The mic switch feels really cheap.

The mic can not be adjusted in height.

Beast for gaming (goos sound stage and good for 7.1 virtual)
LukeB 25.03.2015
If you are looking for a good gaming headset (with actual good quality unlike headsets with gimmicks) get this the bass response is amazing (better then any gaming headset or studio quality headphones and also sound good on most sound cards as they wont need amping like some headphones out there the highs are amazing but not deafening and the mids and lows are also amazing the soundstage is amazing for games like cs go etc as you can pinpoint sounds also they sound amazing for music and reproduce music perfectly i guarantee you cant go wrong with these buy them before they sell out you will not regret it anyway thanks for the quick delivery thomann and also people wondering about the difference between these and the stock 681 evo these sound more clearer and have better highs and better bass response (basically face shakers)

The only thing going for these is good sound.
Anonymous 04.12.2016
Very cumbersome, huge, hot and uncomfortable to wear for longer than an hour at a time! It was literally a pain to my ears. The only redeeming factor is that these are based on proper headphones and the sound was pretty amazing. So was the positioning in games.

Will be sending these back and getting the original HyperX Cloud I think.
