Full-range PA system with integrated effects

The Syrincs D8 Column is an affordable full-range column speaker system for small-sized venues, which offers a considerable range of features that users would normally only expect to find in PA equipment of a higher price category. With its comparatively large number of inputs, this PA system offers multiple sound shaping options, including a reverb effect, an equaliser for each of the two mono channels, and a high-quality power stage for a powerful sound. This compact column speaker system takes next to no time to set up, and it can be easily transported to the next venue thanks to its surprisingly low weight and the carrying case that is included in the scope of delivery.

Individual parts of the Syrincs D8 Column loudspeaker system

Ready to go in seconds

The D8 Column’s base comprises an 8" woofer with a 1.5" voice coil and delivers an output of up to 120W RMS, and the top unit is equipped with a spacer and six 120W 2.75" satellite speakers for frequencies starting from 200Hz. This small-size PA system with a Class D power stage requires 250W, its audio frequency range stretches from 55Hz to 18kHz, and its sound pressure level reaches a maximum of 121dB. The connections are located on the rear side of the base unit and comprise two XLR/jack combo sockets and two stereo inputs, one providing two 6.35mm jack sockets, and the other a 3.5mm jack socket and a Bluetooth connection for incoming signals. Each of the two mono channels is equipped with a two-band equaliser, which allows users to add the integrated reverb effect. The base weighs in at just 10.6kg, and the combined weight of tops and spacer amounts to 3.5kg in total.

An all-round system for intimate settings

This specially designed PA system for small-sized venues is very easy to use, even for beginners. Its modular design and wireless connection between woofer and satellites allow the D8 Column to be set up in seconds at an optimum height for either a sitting or a standing audience thanks to the spacer. With its two mono inputs that can be flexibly used for dynamic microphones, guitars, and line signals, it also offers a sufficient number of inputs to cater to the needs of solo artists or duos. This column speaker system will also convince singers with its reverb effect, and entertainers touring on their own will be able to carry the compact base section (510 × 405 × 510mm) without any problems. Users can also connect it to a tablet PC for playback via the mini jack socket, and fitness instructors will find the Bluetooth option extremely useful for wireless music transmission over a distance of up to 10m. What is more, the on/off switch makes it perfectly easy for bands to control power consumption and save energy in the rehearsal room.

Potential for scaling up to stereo

After assembling the D8 Column speaker system, the user next selects the type of incoming signal for the two mono channels, i. e. mic, guitar, or line signal (such as a keyboard), via the switches and adjusts the individual signal volume with the corresponding channel level controller before setting the master volume via the master level controller. Those who want to address a seated audience can simply assemble the base and tops without the spacer, and users scaling the ladder and performing to bigger and bigger audiences can expand the D8 Column by adding a second D8 column speaker to create a true stereo PA system. This is easily done by setting the switch on the left-hand base section to Stereo Left and connecting its Link Out with the Link In of the right-hand system.

Correct price - quality

I have been using a BOSE L1 Compact system for some time now. Since I use this as the main PA for parties, I sometimes miss a second speaker when it comes to large spaces. That's why this speaker from Thomann caught my eye. Honestly: It's pretty close to Bose, they've thought that through. But what I don't understand is that a beautiful cover for the speaker is delivered but not for the bass cabinet. You have to buy these separately ... At Bose, a cover is included for both the Speakers and the Bass cabinet, but yes, the price difference is something in between. The sound is quite okay, there are some connections and it is possible to connect two systems in stereo. It is also strange that the budget for this speaker has increased by no less than 60 euros in less than two weeks. That is about 500 euros if you also want the cover for the bass cabinet. But all things considered, it's worth investing in this system because it's very portable and easy to use.

Simply Amazing, I cannot complain and am honestly impressed as it is loud.. I would have added guitar effects as an extra addon, though the acoustic guitar sounds pretty clear on this.. I would suggest an update if another model will come out.. adding extra features.. like the Bose app feature.

ST
great product for the price
Shahab Tolouie 20.10.2024
for the price, these speakers are simply great.
we bought a pair for our band and they really surprised us with their projection and clarity. they sit behind the band and surprisingly we haven't had any feedback issues yet. I can't predict the longevity though since it's been in use only over a month.
I only wish they had the pan feature on their input channels, since by pairing two systems you have a stereo system, but since there's no pan on the channels, then practically you get two speakers in mono. we solved this by using an external mixer and send the stereo-out to the stereo-in on the built-in mixer. this is the only way if you need a stereo system.
all in all. the system is an absolute joy to use. the bass bin has a good punch and the two speaker setup is sufficient for small venues of up to 170-200 indoors and 80-100 outdoors.

For me the sound is very clear the only problem I have is the controls are to low to the ground because of the height but I've connected an amp directly so this won't be an issue live ... I would recommend
