Tascam SS-CDR250N

The Tascam SS-CDR250N is a network-compatible solid-state CD audio recorder. It can be controlled through its ethernet connection, the serial or parallel communication ports, or the cabled remote control included in this package. Recordings can be stored on either SD cards or USB flash drives and also uploaded to an FTP server directly via the integrated network. To ensure maximum security, the SS-CDR250N is able to automatically create backup copies. All recordings can be made in a quality of up to 96kHz and 24Bit. The rear side in turn offers flexible inputs and outputs in both analogue and digital formats. With these features, this professional audio recorder is suited for a variety of applications in fixed installation setups.

The Tascam SS-CDR250N features numerous functions that enable secure and flexible recording. Both SD card slots can be used for a mirrored or staggered recording, maximising security. Recordings can also be made quickly, as this recorder only needs a few seconds to boot up: Just one push of a button and the recording can begin. The function for level adjustment can automatically control the input gain, if so desired – and the playback level can be automatically reduced when a threshold is crossed with the ducking function. An integrated compressor and limiter are useful tools for improving recording quality. There is also a pre-recording feature, which stores up to five seconds in a buffer before the the recording itself begins – so it's impossible to miss the start of a track. Users can also place markers in their recordings in order to indicate any errors in the form of distortion due to overdriving the amplifier or synchronisation errors, for example. With pitch control, users can adjust the speed and pitch of the playback independently of one another.
