Picked up a few of these as I make my own cables from time to time. Handy to have a stock.
I've used some individual plugs several times.. repairing old cables that have broken or recycling them, soldering them onto a new, longer cable etc.. and I've never had any problems with them. No cons.. They are definitely durable & reliable. They perform well in normal everyday studio use & can take the heat; literally, of being soldered many times over.
Ive only had good experiences with sssnake & I regularly buy their audio & midi cables also.
Can definitely recommend & will undoubtedly buy again next time I'm running low.

Keeping headphones alive
Anonymous 04.01.2016
Once again, my daughter showed me another broken plastic headphone jack?Throwing the old heaphones away seemed to be the easy option (the headphones were not that expensive), but then I discovered this "the sssnake 1021 Stereo Mini-jack plug . When I opened the plastic packaging I found a decent metal plug, easy to open with lugs relatively comfortable to solder. You need of course proper soldering equipment (keep in mind it is a mini plug- so size matters). There is also a transparent isolation plastic tube to protect the contacts. The biggest problem was actually the headphones cable with the very tiny (micro) wires. I also had to get rid of the isolating varnish on the wires. But now it works. So, this "the sssnake 1021 Stereo mini-jack plug" is a very useful replacement part in a very decent quality. Recommended. Not to forget, a very fast delivery by Thomann. Thanks.

Whatever else you are ordering, stick a few of these in.

Ordered a few of these on top of another purchase to see if i Could replace a broken molded headphone jack.
Worked a treat, had to burn off the plastic colour coating on the existing cable to tin them (most headphones seem to be this way now) but with that done it was a nice simple soldering job.
bend relief spring works well.
looks great too!

Don't waste your time on this. It doesn't make a proper connection with most of my devices.
