Thomann E-Guitar Case ABS Single Cut

I bought Thomann's guitar - HB SC-550 II PAF. As I decided to keep it (I did nice pimping), I also needed some case. And relatively cheap (in price), as was the guitar originally.

PROS:
- price
- low weight
- perfect fit (for the above mentioned guitar)
- very well balanced
- good accessory pocket
- quite solid impression

CONS:
- a bit of padding missing under the body/neck junction area (Guitar is lying on the neck. I "fixed" it by simply putting small cotton towel under)
- hinges and snap fasteners are rather delicate

If you buy Harley Benton, especially SC-550 - this case fits like a glow and provides proper protection without destroying the content of your wallet.

Definitely worth buying.

I bought this case to go along with the Harley Benton Les Paul I bought. This case is an excellent bargain for the price. Case is very solidly made on the outside. The inside of the case is very plush with plenty of padding to keep my baby safe. One of the latches is a locking latch to keep evil doers out of my stuff. The guitar fits in the case like a glove. The only suggestion I might offer is when you buy the guitar and case at the same time, would be to ship the guitar "in" the case. It occurs to me that, that would be a more secure way since it is being shipped overseas. I don't care if the shipping cost is more, it just seems it would be a better more secure way of shipping.

I bought this for my left handed Les Paul. The case was delivered quickly and well packaged as I've come to expect from all Thomann deliveries.

The case is sturdy and feels well put together - the shell isn't flimsy plastic that you can squash - it's pretty solid feeling. Inside, it's well padded and the guitar fits very well. There's plenty of room for the headstock to avoid any potential issues with it getting knocked around in the case. They've clearly put thought into the design because there are two little recesses in the lid for the rhythm/treble switch - one for right-handed and one for left-handed guitars, which I thought was a nice touch.

Overall. great value for money - even with the postage added on still much cheaper than the equivalent UK-based case manufacturer and of a comparable, if not better, quality.

I bought this case to go with a Harley Benton SC-550. It fits the guitar like a glove, and I imagine it would also fit any single cut (Les Paul) style guitar similarly well.

The interior lining is nicely plushy with hard styrofoam padding underneath the lining. There is an indentation in the foam protection to accommodate the Rhythm/Lead switch on this style of guitar, which show attention to detail.

There is a small compartment under the area which will hold small items, including packs of strings. And despite what the product description says, there are 6 separate latches to hold the case together.

The only quibble I have with this case is that there is not enough space to hold a thicker strap. A thin nylon strap would possibly fit in the storage compartment but the thicker padded leather straps do not.

I would buy this case again, as it represents excellent value in a hard case.

I wanted a hard case for my new Vintage V100 gold top Les Paul copy. The guitar didn't cost a huge amount so I didn't want to spend a fortune on a hard case. I looked through the site for Les Paul suitable cases and this was one of the most economical. I was convinced that when it arrived it would be super thin plastic and poorly constructed, how wrong I was.
The plastic is a great balance of thick enough to provide good protection but not to heavy. The 2 hinges on the right side of the case let the lid sit open at 90 degrees and guide the lid down to close first time without having to fiddle to get it to close.
My Vintage V100 fits very well and gets great neck support with the weight of the head stock. The tuners on my V100 make the head stock pretty wide but the case has plenty of room. The case has a quality feel with all the materials being well up to the job. All this for approx £33 bargain of the year :-)
The delivery to Northern Ireland was very quick and the case and other items that I bought were very well packed.
Buy this case you will not be disappointed.

Excellent case but with a twist I haven’t seen before: normally you’d see the lid press on the strings and bridge but this one presses on the end of the body, kind of logic as that’s where it’s pressed into the bottom but it also means that you’d better look for another case for a LP with tailpiece or vibrato or whatever. I bought this case for a Gibson LP Special DC knowing it wouldn’t be a perfect fit as the DC’s are shorter and thinner but getting the right case for these models is near impossible or a very expensive custom-case so I took the gamble. It actually fits better than expected and the weird foam-bulb pressing on the end of the body actually works better for this model, still needs something like a folded towel to support the long unsupported part of body and neck so might try to get the bottom open and see if I’d could get some extra formed foam in there to support the body better. For the rest I’d say excellent value for the money.
