First thing to say is how delighted I am with this flugelhorn case and the service I have had from Thomann. The case case arrived very well packaged and, despite a delay for re-stocking, in pretty quick time.
The case is made from a strong, lightweight nylon material which feels as though it can withstand all but the most severe wear and tear which befalls instrument cases. There are two fixed carry handles one at the side and one at the top of the case. Both are strong and well made and feel as though they will last the course. The case is supplied with fixed back straps which fit neatly under a nylon cover when not in use and a shoulder strap which can be attached by very strong clips onto two anchor points one at each end of the case. The webbing material used looks to be of very good quality. There is a zipped compartment on the outside of the case which is handy for carrying sheet music or, more likely nowadays, a tablet computer.
The Interior of the case is moulded padding material shaped to snugly fit the instrument and a slot for carrying one mouthpiece.
All in all an excellent product as you would expect to be bearing the Thomann logo at a very competitive price.
And so to the "But" in my heading.
My flugel is a Yamaha YFH6310Z horn which is one of the smallest horns around. It JUST fits into this case which is perfect for my purposes but if you have a Flugel any larger than the OZ beware. It's true that the description of the case contains a warning that larger instruments will not fit into it but better safe than sorry. Check the size of your Flugel against the OZ before buying.

Nur für ganz kleine Flügelhörner geeignet!
SilentBrass 08.06.2021
