B
Better than Bonna
Beardybone 30.04.2019
I use this case for my everyday instrument, a Conn 88H, and it honestly is the best trombone case I've ever used. For this price, it's a no-brainer. The case looks professional from the outside and follows the current trend of cases by the likes of Bonna and ProTec.

The inside of the case is the real winner - so much storage. Using the space underneath the tuning slide section of the instrument fits everything I need in there; tuner, metronome, breath builder, breathing bag and phone charger. The external pouch is fantastic for fitting most music into, however it doesn't always fit larger orchestral parts in the more obscure paper sizes. I have a few method books in there that I use most days plus some stationery and notebooks.

I would recommend putting a new set of backpack straps on as the ones provided aren't that comfortable, I swapped them out for the backpack straps on my Basili case.

I've been really pleasantly surprised by Thomanns own brand products, I've just ordered the Thomann Fibertech trombone case for a different instrument and I'm very excited to see if it matches the quality of this case.

Highly recommended, a real bargain!

P
Exquisite Case!
ParkerMac 10.01.2018
Had never used Thomann before, but really impressed with the quality of the design and quality of this case. Movable internal buggers are a fantastic feature so any type of bone is kept from moving. The backstraps click together to make a single over the shoulder strap, or uncip for 2 shoulder straps, really useful for changing carrying styles which I do a lot. The material is a very securely stitched and a good thickness too, waterproof but not too bulky and very light, can't tell I'm wearing it. It stores everything I need with room to spare, even my mutes. Only downsides, its a bit wide to carry by the handle and the backstraps metal clips can jab you in the back when you first put it on, but they spin round after a quick fiddle. But this doesn't stop this been the best case I've ever bought, I'd recommend it to anyone, its great value for money.

Good value for the money but a few big drawbacks
mrmfa 04.03.2022
Good value for the money spent, but a few minor things which could have been better.

* The wrapping part of the handle should have been sewn to the bottom part as that is a more natural way of holding and handling it when closing the case.
* The lid can only open 90 degrees and the case does not stay stable on the floor or table when at 90 degrees which makes it hard to leave open when assembling/disassembling the trombone. Either a more even weight distribution so that it could stay open at 90 degrees without falling over or a 180 degree opening would have been beneficial.
* The mouthpieces goes into a small pouch inside the case. This makes it at first seem luxury but once you start using the case it makes it very hard to assemble/disassemble the trombone as you need both hands to access the mouthpiece and (at least I) usually do that as the last thing and at that time I need to put down the instrument someplace else. With the above mentioned issue of 90 degree opening it means I cannot put back the instrument in the case either.

Had the above issues not been there then I had easily put a 5 star on this case. Now it's only 3 stars.

After 2 years of daily use, one of the two handles needs a little stitching, but I was putting in the case the trombone, a microphone, a mute, lubricants, a laptop, and my headphones. It is really big, and very good quality.
I overdid it.
I believe it's the best choice if you have to carry more than just the trombone. Not good if you need a small case.
