Ra
The SOUND!
Richard aus Q. 12.11.2018
I bought these for a "goodish" Stagg electric upright that had terrible strings from the factory. My first hope was to improve playability soe these "weich" strings promised just that. Now they are not all that "weich" and they marginally lighter to play than the other ones BUT I was shocked at how better the sound! THis should have been the main reason anyway to make the change. They sound very clear and responsive. And thus they are very inspiring string s to play. Price is high but with UB strings, the investment is necessary. Huge thanks to Thomann for outstanding support with this purchase.

A
Perfect choice for everybody
Anonymous 28.06.2016
Using these strings on 5 string J.Rubner bass. These 4 sound beautiful and the thing is that you can find great double basses with a strings like that in every concervatory, academy of music, because It's the cheapest and best strings for a price like that.

In opinion playing pizzicato with these strings is great, the quality of the sound is professional, but I would rather play with more tensioned strings, because these are a little bit low tension. There is a good point of it - you can keep the strings further because it's very easy to press them, even when you play thumb positions.

Playing with a bow is perfect option in orchestras with these strings, because these get strong and specific sound.

So this is a perfect choice for everybody. I just recommend this for everyone - from begginers to professionals.

Best strings for jazz

In this "weich" version the strings have smaller diameter, but the only different feeling I had at the beginning was on the G string. After a while you get used to it, you build your tone again and you take back a lot of comfort more with respect to the standard gauge.
