Simple book (in a good way), lots of tips. Great examples from really nice bands and artists like Radiohead, RHCP, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, U2, Coldplay, Mgmt, Lorde, Sia, Pink, The Weeknd, Pharell Williams etc. I think maybe guitar players will apply better this book. I'm satisfied reader, recommend to beginners and intermediate level songwriters.

Great book!

I just started writing songs on my guitar and thought this book might help. I looked at others online but this one seemed the least intimidating. So far so good, most of the lessons have been really easy to understand, and the couple that go more into music theory will help me down the line I?m sure.

Something else that made this one stand out is that the lessons all have example songs (cool ones too, not three blind mice lol) and tips too. I?ve tried them on my songs and they do work. Good bitesized guide for beginners like me and pretty worth the money.

Il n’y a pas de procédure universelle pour écrire une chanson, c’est la raison pour laquelle écrire un livre pour en donner la recette d’écriture d’une chanson semble être une utopie.
Le livre « How to write a killer song » de Tim Kuhnert est-il utile ?
A mon avis ce livre est plein de richesse. Il retrace sûrement la sensibilité de l’auteur vis à vis des chansons actuelles. Le livre nous donne des astuces pratiques qui ont fait ses preuves puisqu’il cite des chansons qui ont marqué les esprits et les époques.
Vu à posteriori l’analyse de TimKuhnert a plein de bon sens. Il donne un éclairage sur le problématique de l’écriture des chansons.
Pour ma part je ne regrette pas l’achat de ce livre, il est utile et m’aide à mieux comprendre pourquoi les auteurs ont fait tel ou tel choix dans l’écriture de leurs chansons.
