Good all round sound with projection and warmth depending on the top used with it.

Bought for playing in a brass band setting. As a trumpet player its tricky to find a mouthpiece that blends with others yet feels familiar to my trumpet equipment. This no.7 backbore works brilliantly with my 4md top and Getzen custom cornet. Very pleased!

BM
Warburton Cornet Backbore 7 with Long Model Cornet.
Bob M. 01.04.2016
I'm using this product with a Yamaha YCR2330III "Long Model" Cornet which is not the standard in use in Brass bands in the UK.

Warburton make a range of cornet tops and backbones for "short model" cornets as commonly used in the UK, with the "BC" suffix.

I believe that there are compatibility issues if the correct shanks aren't used for these different designs. As I'm a long way from a brass dealer I've not been able to test this..

I've owned Warburton pieces in the past and have found their modular system very useful, including the 8 shank, but I feel that the 7 is a safe all-round bet.
