Um die Kosten niedrig zu halten, sind i.A. bei der Lieferung von Ukulelen nicht die besten Saiten aufgespannt.
Fast auf allen Ukas findet man heute Aquila Saiten; sicher nicht schlecht, aber in vielen Fällen deutlich zu schrill.

Was bei preiswerten Ukulelen für Anfänger noch angehen mag - denn laut sind sie ja - bei höhenwertigen Ukulelen sollte man sich aber doch etwas gönnen, was klanglich dem verwendeten Hölzern wie Akazie, Koa etc. - insbesondere beim Solospiel - mehr gerecht wird.

Ich habe deshalb so nach und nach auf all meinen Ukulelen die Saiten von WORTH verwendet und bin von dem "runden" Klang durchweg begeistert.

Man sollte sich von dem - auf den ersten Blick - "hohen Preis" nicht abschrecken lassen, die Länge der Saiten ist so bemessen, dass es für 2 Bespannungen reicht.

Für mich sind die WORTH Saiten klanglich auf jeden Fall ihren "Preis wert"!

Wie immer bei Worth reicht die Länge bequem für zwei Ukulelen, was den Preis wieder deutlich relativiert.
Klanglich sind sie, wie sie aussehen: klar und brilliant. Wer seine Ukulele von den allgegenwärtigen Nylonsaiten auf Fluorocarbon umstellt, wird sich über den neuen Klang wundern....
Für einen etwas weicheren und wärmeren Klang sollte man übrigens Worth Brown nehmen, die haben nicht nur eine andere Farbe sondern tatsächlich auch andere Klangeigenschaften.

Eine gute Alternative zu den Worth Clear sind übrigens Martin Saiten (M600), da gibt's allerdings nur einen Satz für's Geld (aber leider nicht bei Thomann...)

The tension is just right, not too high, not too low, so the instrument is able to breathe. The sound depends on the qualities of your personal instrument, but I thought this was a pretty neutral string, it helped the instrument to sound like itself, while presenting the typical qualities of the carbon material: open sound and good sustain. I think this string will work for instruments previously strung with Aquila Nylgut. Just see which one you like better. These sets seems expensive, but the strings are double length. Cut them in half and serve two ukes!
