A classic among Rock cymbals

Cymbal manufacturer Zultan began its success story with the launch of its "Rock Beat" series in the year 2000. These cymbals are hammered and milled by hand in Zultan's workshops by Turkish artisans and guarantee a full and multifaceted sound that easily cuts through in a mix and makes them perfect for Rock music. Thanks to the wide range of models, sizes, and thicknesses available, however, players of many other styles will also find what they are looking for here. Never before has a professional cymbal sound been available at such an affordable price.

Zultan Rock Beat 17" Crash

Bright sound and dazzling looks

For centuries, a combination of 80% copper and 20% tin has been the recipe for perfection when it comes to cymbal-making, and is consequently the one used by every manufacturer for their top-of-the-line series. The prices that these cymbals fetch leave the majority of drummers shaking their heads, however - all the better therefore that Zultan's Rock Beat series is within the reach of those who don't have a fortune to spend. The 17" Crash provides powerful accents and possesses a large dynamic range, while its dazzling finish makes it look pretty damn good at the same time.

More than just Rock

When it says "Rock" on the outside, there should be Rock on the inside - and that is absolutely true of Zultan's Rock Beat series. Thanks to its bright and full-bodied sound, the 17" Crash can easily cut through over distorted guitars and is therefore the ideal choice for all types of Rock music. Thanks to its sensitive response, however, it already develops its full potential in the middle dynamic range and is thus also a great choice for styles like Pop, Funk, and Blues.

About Zultan

To provide traditional craftsmanship at a fair price has been the guiding principle of Zultan ever since it was founded in 2000. The firm’s practice of selling directly to the end customer makes it possible to offer very customer-friendly prices. Nevertheless, the production process for Zultan’s trademark cymbals, which are made mainly in Turkey, is of the highest quality, a fact which has ensured they have also been a fixture in the Thomann range since 2011. The nearly 250 Zultan products cover several cymbal series, catering for all sectors of the music market. Zultan also offers accessories such as bags and drumsticks. Thanks to the use of high-quality materials and manufacturing expertise, Zultan really does offer uncompromising quality at a reasonable price.

Professional sound at a budget-friendly price

Those who start learning to play the drums should pay particular attention to the quality of their cymbals, because while lower-grade cymbals may be sufficient for the needs of some players, they do still have clear limitations in terms of dynamics and expression. With its Rock Beat 17" Crash (or perhaps even one of its affordable complete sets), Zultan gives drummers impressive quality at an affordable price, so an enjoyable playing experience is guaranteed in the long term. Even professional drummers who already have B20 cymbals may find the 17" Crash to be the perfect addition to their existing setup.

Incredibly well sounding cymbal for this price
Bernardo Viciani 04.12.2020
I bought this after buying other cymbals from Zultan and this is the best sounding of the set. I paired it with a 16” Paiste Signature fast crash that costs more than double and i am really satisfied. Bright and rich sound, similar to a K thin crash from Zildjan. In my opinion better than the A custom crashes that i have heard from Zildjan. The attack is quick, the sustain not too long, the volume is medium and the sound is good in the whole dynamic range, from low to very high. Although i play rock with a quite aggressive band i am suspicious when i see the name “rock” on a cymbal as often means an harsh metallic sound, this is not the case, this is a cymbal with a bright presence that comes out very well also in very loud musical environments but with a sweet balanced tone, with a rich texture. As this is an handmade cymbal maybe i was lucky to pick a really good sounding, balanced one, but as i have other 4 Zultan cymbals i have to say that the quality is quite consistent. I’ve played this cymbal a lot for the last 6 months with no cracks and the brilliant finiture is still brilliant. In my opinion the graphic carachter of the “rock beat” sign is quite shitty and depressing but this is the only thing i don’t like in this cymbal. I’ve ordered other two rock beat crashes in 18” and 19” and i’m looking forward to see if they sound as well as this. For this price Zultan is an absolute bargain that could compete with cymbals that costs two or three times.

A
Cheap but great
Andrenr 29.06.2019
Bought this cymbal because of the price and just wanted to test out Zultans in general. I wasn't expecting much as I tend to use Zildjian Customs only. Here I am, a few years later, using it for gigs and rehearsals and use it as one of my main cymbals.

It has no cracks or damages, and I have played it hard for 2 years now. Love it!

THE BEST sub 300¤ Crash I've ever tried!
Alex Djuran 07.04.2019
I am particularly picky about my crashes and I must say, this is possibly the best one I've played in years!
I played a ton of crashes, from Zildjian A Customs, Sabian AAX, to everything Paiste and NO crash has ever come this close to fitting my needs. It's just the right volume a crash needs to be, and has a beautiful decay, wash and sustain. If you need a Rock/Metal Crash as your primary, this is a STEAL!

Good value for the money
Staffan81 09.01.2015
This cymbal sounds like and feels like the Masterworks custom made cymbals, and are made from B20 bronze. Instead of buying high brand B8 cymbals this is a much better deal. Better sound and better looks (except the logo, which you can easily remove with some metal cleaning agent). High durability, and great sound. My recommendation is to buy "expensive" hi-hat and ride cymbal, but crashes are more likely to break and therefore the Zultan are perfect for rehersal/practice.
