Extravagant patina

The versatile cymbals that make up Zultan's Dark Matter series are handcrafted in Turkey by the hammers of experienced cymbal smiths. Cast by hand from a high-quality B20 alloy, the cymbals owe their extraordinary appearance to an elaborate surface treatment in which the cymbals are immersed in a special liquid and afterwards polished with bronze fragments. In addition to the Dark Matter Cymbal Set, many individual cymbals are also available as part of Zultan's Dark Matter series.

Universal and explosive

"Dark" describes not only the look, but also the sonic character of this series: The cymbals' combination of extraordinary explosiveness and a good helping of clarity creates a universally applicable sound which, together with their appealing look, is testament to the series' excellent craftsmanship. As each cymbal is handmade and therefore unique, minimal sound variations among several cymbals of the same type are entirely normal. The Dark Matter Professional Set consists of a 14" hi-hat, a 16" crash, and a 20" ride. In addition, the set comes with a matching cymbal bag.

These cymbals are heavy, wonderful tones as you'd expect and look stellar

They sound amazing, sharp and dry. The bell on the 16 crash is the stuff of angels, and the ride is perfect for jazz with its dark sound and wash. In case you want a brighter ping, nylon sticks work wonderfully, though I believe regular old wooden sticks are still the best fit.

The package came with a bag, where I keep my old cymbals, and a free 10" splash, which has quickly become my favorite cymbal of all. I cannot recommend this set of cymbals enough, and I can't wait to try out the rest of the family (the stacks and the china, to be more precise).
Wonderful price-quality ratio too.

Killer set for the price

Keep in mind I come from a set of B8 cheap cymbals, but I was utterly blown away by these, the ride and hi-hats in particular.
Much more defined sound and harmonic content.

They are darker than other sets i tried, but that is what i wanted. No screeching weird high frequencies.
Just good, balanced full sound with a quick attack and somewhat short decay.
In the future will probably get another crash with a brighter character for contrast, but even now I can play basically any genre.
