Great product with some minor inconveniences.

Using the cable drum for some CAT6 network cable. The drum is really sturdy and does a perfectly good job. The only small issue: The hole for the cable is not large enough to fit a connector, so if you want to use this with an existing cable you will have to disassemble one of the connectors to attach the cable to the drum, which in some cases (e.g. ethercon) can be quite an inconvenience.

Amazing Drum for combi Cable SDI-UTP 30 m
Ben @ DiDaCast 06.03.2023
Recently I purchased 2 * 30m. combi cable SDI-UTP, diam 14,5 mm, to feed my PTZ and retrieve video signal.
Cable manufacturer drum's proposal are huge in size and expensive. So I decided to try a medium size and less expensive drum.
So I tested this AdamHall 70225 , which is the Schill 310 equivalent but a bit bigger... And I have to say this does perfectly the job for this 30 m. combi cable ! 25 m. should be perfect but 30 m. will just fit in if you roll the cable carefully, with 2,5 m. on auxiliary winding.
I like the small footprint, lightness, robustess, locking brake, and high handle which allows a bit more space for more cable.
I like less small diameter of internal cable pass. I you have a Neutrik RJ45 connector you have to put cable in from opposite extremity... not the end of the world.

S
Best Cable drum?
Simon1074 31.07.2015
Best cable drum? Yes it is, extremely tough and durable, but incredibly light!
There's a cable management section on the side with useful slots to secure the cable with ease, or you can even push the short end in through the large opening if you have nothing much larger than an XLR on the end and a couple of metres of cable, very quick storage and avoids those annoying tangles when the short end unexpectedly breaks loose during winding.

Great for plastic

All plastic. Would have preferred some metal and stuff. But works well enough.
