I took a chance on this bag, mainly because of the reasonable price but also because i needed something that allowed me to carry everything that my student life requires me to carry, but I also needed to carry a lot of, and most importantly protect my mallets!
This bag i certainly a very thought-through with several pockets inside the main compartment to carry a lot of things and letting you be organized. It also has a lot of room for your mallets, and timpani/loosely woven marimba mallets will not get completely destroyed during transit, which is one of the main reasons that this bag is much better than most "foldy-type" stickbags.
So it's an all-around great bag if you're a student and need to carry more than just mallets and sheet music, but i do have some complaints on the design:
1. It doesn't really carry everything that you may need if you're a student and need a lot of schoolbooks, and if you overpack you will start worrying about the bag...
2. The velcro that the flap attaches to is very bad, i've had my bag for only 1 month and the velcro is already useless.
3. In the mallet compartment, you have two thick (and well made!) dividers. and even though you're supposed to be able to customise them, if you do so the velcro will destroy your precious marimba/timpani mallets!
4. And lastly, i would love to have the option of putting a TSA lock on the zips, as well as an ID-window!
