Excellent sound quality for it's price
DJ Teknovibe 06.06.2023
I've had many audio interfaces over the years from Audient, Focusrite, Apogee (an old Rosetta 200 with X-firewire card), Motu etc...I have to say this Apogee Boom has truly excellent sound quality for it's price wow. It's DAC is SO good it replaced my Cambridge Audio DAC Magic 100 USB DAC. Now the downside, it isn't plug 'n' play so it won't work unless you have a Mac computer or Windows computer with the Apogee Control 2 software installed or a latest generation iPad with the Control app installed on it.

I was gutted it wouldn't work on my Android tablet and I think Apogee need to make an app to be able to use it because millions of people have Android phones and tablets so Apogee are potentially missing out on even better sales from customers who don't want to have to buy an iPad, Mac or Windows pc but do want to use the Boom.

But anyway, vocals are very, very clean and clear, the bottom low frequency end is clean too the amount of detail the Boom reveals is absolutely great. It's well worth it's cost.

Better than expected by a mile!!!
A Evo 24.05.2023
As an owner of the Apogee Duet 2 for just under a decade I have been well impressed with their products and now the time to upgrade arrived I was looking at the Duet 3, but before I committed I researched several products. Now you may think being 1/4 the price of the Duet 3 that The Boom would be a lower grade audio device, far from it!! Offering similar bit and sample rates as the duet 3 and high quality pre amps and drivers the main missing thing I could find was 2 less outputs. The Boom sounded so crisp when I set it up that I had to reference some tracks I knew inside out because I was shocked on the quality. If you are looking for high end sound but on a budget and even if you aren't on a budget, this is very much the audio device for you!! Would buy it again and again, and will be recommending to anyone I know, oh yeah and being a USB C connection was the icing on the cake

Here comes the boom!
Mario Zed 17.06.2023
Being the proud owner of the apogee duet FireWire for some years support for the newer MacBooks are obsolete. I honestly did not want to change because of the build and sound quality. Knowing apogee sound I looked at an alternative. I did not want to spend a mass amount on a card and then I looked at the apogee boom. I went ahead and purchased it. When it arrived I opened the box and the first thing that stood out was the aluminum body and vibrant colour. When I picked it up I just knew it was that same quality you expect from apogee. Setting it up was a breeze compared to the older model. The software was much more intuitive. The sound quality is exactly like the duet and that warm crisp sound you would expect from apogee, highly satisfied. The only downside would be for me is the headphones are at the rear of the unit, not too much of a hassle but would have preferred it on the front for ease of access. 5 stars from me.

Paperweight, had 2 and both eventually stopped connecting
xdfo 16.07.2024
I have 2 of these now, after a free replacement from thomann, both stopped connecting to my pc after a few weeks of use. Apogee isn't helpful, thomann demanded I essentially hire a broker to send them back to germany so I considered the time and money cost of doing so and decided not to.
