I have installed this speaker in my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe II, as a replacement for a Vintage 30 12". My goal was to get a better, livelier sound at low a volume level.
The V30 sounds a bit dull and muddy and I reckoned that a smaller speaker would require less energy to come alive.
I'm very pleased that it worked out really well, the speaker has a very precise low-end and a nice chime. Even at a low volume level. I never play loud, so I can't let you know how it compares at high volume levels.
I also tried the G12M-65, the sound is somewhere inbetween the V30 and G10, however I preferred the G10.
I'm using an attenuator to reduce the volume, so I can turn up the amp volume a bit. (The tubes/valves of the power-amp require a decent signal amplitude in order to create the pleasant harmonics that are caused by the non-linear amplification of a tube/valve). The attenuator may influence the sound somewhat, however, without the attenuator, the amp sounds definitely worse to my ears.
