Amazing Speaker!
Big Dog 24.05.2019
Got a pair of these to replace two V 30's in a Marshall Silver Jubilee Vertical Cab. I found the V 30's, even when broken in to be harsh and did not like them at all. I also got rid of my Marshall Silver Jubilee 20 Watt Amp as I found the Amp to be very fizzy. I purchased a Marshall 800 Studio Amp (which is brilliant and very organic sounding) and I replaced the V 30's with the V Type Speakers. Amazing sound (IMO), after I broke them in for 30 hours. There is some volume coming out of the Cab now with the 20 Watt 800 with the Master at 4! I think that the V Type are about 50% Greenback, 25% V 30 and 25% Heritage (IMO). It is a great all round speaker (and light) for Blues, Rock, Classic Rock and 80's Metal. I have a Creamback in a Marshall DSL 40CR and the V Type is brighter that that, but very well balanced and not at all harsh and they also do not have a mid spike, like the V 30's. Since the 800 is only a single channel Amp, I use a TC Electronic Spark Boost thru the Effects Loop with the Mid Boost turned on for Solos and the sound from the speakers is superb and really cuts through the mix. Another winner from Celestion at a realistic price.

S
Made my Marshall Origin 20 Sing
Sambatyon 22.05.2020
Last year I was in need of a second amp and went for the Marshall Origin 20, while it did everything it promised the Amp just had no bottom end at all with its 10" speaker.

After a while I decided to invest in this Celestion speaker and after the upgrade I was just taken aback. My amp started sounding like a Marshall should do, a nice bottom end with crispy mids. One side effect I wasn't expecting, it made my amp louder.

Ausgeglichen Balanced
Anonymous 17.07.2016

I use the speaker in my isolation cabinet, i.e. in a closed housing with approx. 60 liters of air in the back and 110L in the recording room at the front, so it does its job very well! I decided on the 16Ohm version for the parallel operation option. The Celestion V sounds very balanced, there is no frequency range that stands out uncomfortably, clear, well-defined bass, mids and highs are also in the right proportion. I also modded two amps with the Celestion V and while there was only a slight improvement with the Blackstar HT5R, my Marshall Valvestate VS65R had an absolute "Wow, that sounds awesome now" effect! The speaker seems to be made for the Valvestate, it's just great to hear what potential the amp has with the right speaker. I can only recommend the Celestion because it has a balanced sound, is equally suitable for open and closed cases, and is also very affordable. Whether clean, slightly distorted, or high gain, everything seems to suit him. It is also ideal as an upgrade for a Marshall Valvestate!

This speaker has clarity and precision. Excellent for clean sound and manageable for distorted sounds.
