Chicken Picks Bermuda III 2,7mm Pick

I've bought this pick with a very specific use in mind; I am a guitar player who has recently acquired a bass guitar, and since I have nails on my right hand, using my fingers to pluck the strings would produce the sound I am not really after, besides it would be detrimental to the nails themselves, so I was exploring other ways of trying to get the sound that's closest to the sound you would expect to get when playing the bass with fingers. I've thought that using heavy and large picks for such a purpose would be better than using the regular ones, but that theory did prove wrong in this case; these picks, even though they are bigger and heavier than the regular ones, they have sharp edges and produce a really bright and unpleasant sound on bass, so it kinda puts you back at the square one sound wise. Actually, in the meantime I've found out that using the regular 0.88mm picks (which I normally use on an electric guitar), but only turning them around and picking with the round side of the pick works much better than these ones.

The pick seems to be quality-made, it has a good grip and it feels durable; I can imagine it not wearing out for a long time (undoubtedly someone who has been using it on a guitar for a longer period of time will have much more relevant opinion about that), but since I've been reviewing it explicitly for my purpose, hence the two stars in Total.

Ich hab ewig dieselben Pleks gespielt und plötzlich, von jetzt auf gleich wollte ich mit denen nichts mehr zu tun haben. Klingt komisch, war aber so. Dann hab ich ein kleines Vermögen ausgegeben und hier ein neues Plek getestet und da wieder eins. Waren welche dabei, die mir gut gefielen und welche, die sofort durchfielen. Als ich dann nochmal 15.- EUR für zwei verschiedene Chicken Picks (Bermuda und Badazz) ausgegeben hab, kam so ein "Aha" Effekt. Das haptische ist immer Geschmacksache. Ich mag diese 2,7 mm dicken Dinger (das Badazz hat 2,5). Das Badazz gefällt mir klanglich fast noch besser, ist mir aber etwas zu klein, da ich nicht die Spitze spiele sondern die seitlichen Kanten. Das geht mit dem Bermuda besser. Grip ist mehr als ausreichend. Und zum Schluss zum Ton: der gefällt mir echt super. Auch Tone ist subjektiv, latürnich. Aber dass das Plek anders klingt, als die anderen, das ist offensichtlich. Und ich behaupte mal, den meisten von uns wird dieser andere Tone auch als besser erscheinen. Drum auf jeden Fall meine Empfehlung, den Dingern mal eine Chance zu geben. Ich bleib erst mal dabei.

Ich kann in das Loblied auf "Chicken Picks" nicht einstimmen.
Ja, die Verarbeitung ist tadellos.
Die Langlebigkeit erscheint sehr wahrscheinklich gegeben.
2,6 bzw 2.7 mm fester Kunststoff rutschen nicht so einfach aus den Fingern.

ABER der Ton macht die Musik.
Ein feiner, elleganter Klang bleibt ein Wunsch.
Die Kanten sind optisch glatt, aber selbst auf
geschliffenen Thomastik - Saiten fühlt man sich
sowohl vom Handling / Spielgefühl, als auch vom
akustischen Ergebnis, assoziativ an eine kratzige
Wollunterhose erinnert. Eigentlich komme ich aus
dem Kopfschütteln nicht mehr 'raus.

Acheté (en 2ex.) après en avoir essayé un pour tester différents médiator (Jazz III, Dragon's Heart, Gravity Pick). Devenu depuis mon premier choix.

Plus large qu'un Jazz III et plus court qu'un pick "normal", la prise en main est facilitée pour moi, tout en gardant la précision grâce à l'épaisseur (2.7mm).

Le Bermuda possède une pointe plus ronde (traditionnelle) et on peux utiliser les autres pour des attaques plus précises.

Le matériau est très resistant à l'usure.

Le son est précis, plus "froid" qu'un médiator standard, mais moins que d'autre médiator en acrylique ou plastique épais.

Il sera assez dur de jouer des rythmiques type funk avec.
Idéal pour des plans Shred ou rapide aller-retour.

Le prix peut paraître élevé mais vous le garderez longtemps. (à moins de le perdre..)
