Was thinking about a plain Cry Baby to start with, got interested in the normal Slash pedals (Both have beautiful finishes) and once I heard this one in a couple of reviews, it was a closed deal.
PROS
-Double feature pedal, Wah and Distortion
-Heavy construction in lovely Candied apple red.
-Included wrench to adjust the pedal pressure
-Amazing sound range and screaming gain
-Gain and volume control wheels for the distortion help a lot but you will be thinking twice before passing 12 o'clock....pure juicy sonic madness
-Flourishing wah effect the more distorted channel you use(Eg Marshall MG solid state series).....clean is nice but lacks a bit of a kick (Put on the gain on pedal and you are good to go...: ), Crunch is the doorstep to the tonal variety and Distortion channel 1(My absolute favorite) or 2 are just sublime (Watch it here with the gain knob since it will start biting hard)
CONS
-Gain can only be added when Wah is on, only then....would have been great to have it separate and be able to activate either, without the need to always have to have Wha on. This would have truly been THE pedal.
-No instructions on how to use the wrench for adjustment on pressure
-Sound is actually 5 stars but forcing you to use both effects if you want to have distortion is a clearly pushing me to put a star less here. Even if the sound is sick, you could have had a marvelous pedal by making independent effects
BIG FYI REGARDING INCLUDED WRENCH...thanks first to the Thomann team for checking this for me and all interested in buying this pedal since it was not easy to find...
The pedal includes a T-shape Allen-key looking wrench. This is to be carefully used between pedal and casing by entering from the back side. On the back of the pedal, between pedal and casing, a bit inside where pedal is fixed to the casing. There is a spot that fits the wrench for you to tighten or loosen the pressure.
