M
How are they on bass?
Mez 12.05.2020
I bought these to see how they compared to the standard Tortex .88s on bass, I'd used Jazz IIIs on electric for a while so thought I'd see how they handle.

There's not a huge amount of difference between the two other than the point on the pick. They're not bad but honestly the point on the pick probably isn't the best for bass. I've gone back to the normal Tortex .88s on bass now as they seem to hit the string in a far more comfortable way for me.

Not a bad pick and not a huge amount in it compared to the standard picks but I'd stick to the normal .88s as a bassist.

I don't need any other pick ever
bananu7 23.08.2019
There are three (heh) things to talk about when discussing picks: material, shape and thickness. The brand name is something I personally don't care about at all.

So, tortex material is well known for its natural sound and real-tortoise-shell-like feel. It's grippy and nice to hold. For reference, I absolutely hate Ultex, find vinyl picks too slippery, and carbon and steel ones too harsh. This is a perfect balance.

The shape of this pick is really interesting, as it brings the tip of the famous Jazz III pick together with regular Tortex handle. A matter of taste, but I find it better than the regular tortex. The only downside is that it seems to lose the shape much quicker... but maybe it's just because I play more thanks to it!

The thickness is a matter of personal preference, but I would first see what strings you use. 0.88 works fine with 9 or 10s, up to 52-ish in bass. If you play thicker strings, consider the 1mm one. If you play mostly (heavy) rhythm, it's worth exploring even thicker picks for the added attack and bite.

Good pick, but nog my first choice
T.J. 14.02.2021
I bought different 0,88 Dunlops, to check which one was best for me. As all other Dunlops, good quality and feel, this came out as my second choise. Winner was the Flow. Good thing with this one as well is the pointy end! Good quality, but a pick is merely personal taste
