This is a genuine replacement Fender P-Bass Pickup Cover. I had been looking for one of these for a while and found this one on Thomann to be the best value.
This pickup cover was destined for my Squier Matt Freeman Precision bass and it looks great on it. A classic look for sure.
One downside I found with the cover, and this was only found out after installation, was the wing parts (at the side where the screw goes through) were not 100% flat. This meant that after the cover was screwed tightly into place the cover had dug slightly into the pickguard. When I took the cover off to adjust the pickup height one day I discovered the cover had left permanent marks on the pickguard. Not so good. Not a problem when the cover is in place but it's annoying to know those marks are there. So, before installation, set the cover flat on a table and see if it's sitting flat or needs some adjustment.

Just to give my P basses that 60's look.
Jazzbass1946 16.02.2021
My bass roots go back to the early sixties with Jet Harris, Brian Locking and John Rostill as my roll models I only knew P-basses with all the covers on. In the 70's I removed the ashtray from my Jazz but now, playing in an old man's "Shadows band" I replaced all covers on all basses. They look nice and when playing finger style they serve as a thumb rest. A good quality product although screws should be included.

Not a whole lot that one can say about a pick up cover these days. One buys such a thing because one desires that unique and yet authentic look for his and/or hers musical bass guitar. Fender to be exact although I have seen these products on warwicks before also which in my opinion defeats the entire purpose of purchasing a pick up cover. Fender idolised these pieces for fender collectors and players. They symbolized a generation of bass legends and giants from which have left this earth to accommodate a new world. James jamerson's infamous one finger hook technique gave the humble pick up cover a final purpose and thus became an essential element on any given authentic fender bass guitar. Although I'v heard many a time that these covers were invented for the soul purpose of decreasing the "hum" in your standard P Bass pick up but the technique of shielding via foil has replaced this element of the cover and given it no purpose at all. So thus we have them to provide us bass players with bling and a lifetime of joy. These little beauties will enhance the look and authenticity of any P-bass. :D Thanks again thomann for providing me with exceptional quality and fast delivery! :)

This cover is ok, chrome plating seems well applied and thick enough. I wanted a retro look for my P Bass and this does it. Been on the bass for a while now and showing no signs of discolouring or corroding. Only critiscm is that it is not supplied with screws. I found it a little difficult to find screws of the right size to fit the holes, and to match the appearance of those already on the bass.
