Powerful two-channel combo with reverb

Harley Benton's guitar amps, which come in many sizes, have long been known for their quality and bargain prices. The powerful HB-80R guitar combo is no exception. Its two foot-switchable channels, integrated spring reverb, high-performance 80-watt power stage, and 12-inch Celestion speaker as well as a host of useful connection options make it perfectly suited not only to home use but to the rehearsal studio and stage as well. Power is supplied via a standard IEC cable, which allows different cables to be used and thus provides increased flexibility.

Harley Benton HB-80R Celestion guitar amp

Robust and easy to operate

A sturdy enclosure with reinforced corners fully protects the Harley Benton HB-80R and its four rubber feet ensure it remains stable at all times. The operation of the two channels on the HB-80R’s front panel is very clearly laid out. Both channels have their own three-band EQ as well as separate gain and volume controls. In addition, Channel 1 also features a Voice control that provides even greater tonal variety. A shared reverb provides a pleasant ambiance to the sound – and those who wish to plug in their favourite pedals will also find an integrated effects loop on the amp's rear panel. An output for an external 8-Ohm speaker, a headphone output, a Line Out, and an AUX input for integrating external signals complete this neatly designed, high-performance guitar combo.

Celestion Seventy 80 speaker

Universal guitar combo

Thanks to its two fully-independent channels and tube-emulating circuit, the sound spectrum of the Harley Benton HB-80R ranges from crystal-clear and punchy on the clean channel to distorted crunch and high-gain thunder on the overdrive channel. Together, the high-performance 80-watt power stage and the Celestion speaker provide a surprisingly high output volume. Don’t let looks fool you: This amp can be used without hesitation on stage. And should more power still be required, the rear panel includes an output for an external speaker. Practice comes before gigging however – and for that the AUX input allows you to play along to your favourite tracks. And you can do so discreetly, if you so wish, using the integrated headphone output.

Powerful amp

I use this for my music session in the garage and i just need to turn the volume knob halfway and i'm having a blast.

What i like about this amp is that it has 2 channels 1 is better to use for clean and the other one for distortion, so it is good if you don't have pedals to be able to quickly switch channel in the middle of a song if you need to.
The clean channel surprised me with it's quality and smooth sound.
But on the other hand when you use high gain you get some noise coming from the amp when you are not playing,

I just bought Boss-GT 100 for a great price at thomann and i am going to see if i can fix that noise when i am playing with the gain from the effect but not the amp using the 4 cable method and the noise gate in the pedal.

I will get the effect in couple of days and i will update the review then.
***Update got the BOSS GT-100 for about a month now.
Got rid of the high gain buzz in the amp with or without the 4 cable method thanks to the noise gate in the multi effect. So it is doing very fine in the garage where i jam along another guitar and backing tracks.

Good value for the money

A clear sounding amplifier for all styles. Pretty heavy but worthwhile having. Sounds better than expected. AC noise present when driving impedance is moderately high (50-100KOhm), will investigate further on that.

Solid clean sound for a great price
Chilly-Dilly 08.06.2018
As usual, the Harley Benton brand is punching above its weight. This is by no means an amazing amp, but if all you're looking for is a loud amp with a good clean sound, this is the one. Having the 12" Celestion speaker is really nice, and it's not something any other companies (that I know of) could feasibly do at such a low price.

However, if you want a heavy metal tone, you're going to want something else. Personally, I'm thinking of getting the Revv G3 to go in front of the amp to solve this problem, but if you're not after the crazy metal distortion sound then it shouldn't be a problem for you.

TL,DR: Good clean sound for really cheap. Worth it.

Great If you are playing in a band for bars, pubs, private events it is perfect for
bringing it along being just the right size to fit inside your car or use in your studio office.
The power it has is just as good as any pro amp, plenty of volume enough to blow your ear drums out. Settings has what you need to perform and is very effective. It could use a delay, other than that I have no complaints, for the price it does what it was made to do. Cheer's
