Capo for electric and steel acoustic guitars

With capos, you have to pay attention to which fingerboards they are suitable for. The Harley Benton HBCA-K is suitable for curved fingerboards as used on steel acoustic guitars and electric guitars. A better choice for classical guitars with nylon strings and flat fingerboards is the corresponding counterpart with a flat rubber pad, the HBCC-K. Unlike older capo designs, this capo is easy and quick to use: It can be attached and removed with just one hand, while the built-in metal spring provides pressure on the strings. To protect the guitar's finish from scratches, both the long surface for the fingerboard and the short surface for the back of the neck are made of rubber.

Robust and affordable accessories

This capo is made of solid metal and has an curved supporting surface for the fingerboard. It is therefore particularly suitable for musicians with steel acoustic guitars, but can also be used perfectly on electric guitars. A capo is an indispensable accessory at the campfire or on stage if you need to change key in a hurry and can't (or just don't want to) work out the different chords. The design of this model is particularly advantageous when things have to happen quickly, such as when switching from one song to another. You don't have to do any complicated adjustment to suit the neck profile, but can quickly move the capo to the right place with one hand, where the metal spring then provides sufficient pressure. Nevertheless, this capo is affordable and should really be seen as a practical accessory and not a luxury.

About Harley Benton

Since 1998, the Harley Benton brand has been catering for the needs of numerous guitarists and bassists. In addition to an extensive range of stringed instruments, Thomann's house brand also offers a wide choice of amplifiers, speakers, effect pedals, and other accessories. In total, the range includes over 1.500 products. Built by established names in the industry, all Harley Benton products combine quality and reliability at attractive and affordable prices. The continuous expansion of the range ensures that Harley Benton always provides new, exciting, and innovative products that keep players perfectly in tune with the musical world, day after day.

For making music together

Even when they're not on stage, people still like to make music together - with friends, with the family, around the campfire, and in the comfort of their own homes. Quite often, the songbooks are brought out, a popular tune is chosen and... Someone fails to hit the right pitch while singing. The chords are right there on the page, but it would be too much trouble to rewrite them in a new key. The capo often does the trick on the third fret, and you can pick the usual chords - and the vocals fit. Because it's so easy to use with one hand, annoying repositioning is a thing of the past. If you don't need the capo at the moment, you can simply attach it to the headstock, which ensures that you don't misplace or forget it.

Doesn't feel like Budget! Save Money rather than Buy the established Brands
The Eric Johnson of Helsinki 28.08.2017
It's only recently that I've been using alternate tunings again, because they make your guitar a whole new instrument. Most of all, I like to detune, then to use a capo, because it gives the timbre a whole new character. So recently I've been recording four guitar tracks, each in a different tuning. The effect is awesome.

What you need for this of course is a capo. For my folk teaching and gigging I use Csus2 tuning, DADGAD, open D, and so on. There are some great books out there about this.

When I sent my stuff back to London, I sent a couple of G7 capos, and now I'm a professional (for want of a better word) musician, money is tight. I needed a capo for a folk gig with a great female singer. Thought I'd just get this one but to be fair, I wasn't expecting much. I was wrong.

I think this is Thomann's own brand but I'm not sure. But it can hold its own with G7s, etc. It's easy to apply, and sturdy. Excellent stuff.

So if you're a bit hard up, this is the one for you. And like a previous review of "the little things" like picks, remember that you can have all the posh stuff on the planet (I have some pretty high end stuff), but this is what I tell my students: it begins with the fingers on the frets. That's the most important thing. So it's so easy to think that because a guitar has a posh name on the headstock, it'll make you play like Eric Clapton, Michael Hedges, or Wes Montgomery... this is not the case.

That is why I am giving this five out of five overall. The cost-quality ratio outweighs all of the competition. For this reason I'm seriously considering this brands other products, I mean you can never have too many compressors! Certainly made me rethink the fretboard and opened up new timbres. What's not to like?

Its hard to mess up a capo
Gingicecon 10.11.2020
I got this because the I lost my last capo and its a good idea to have one around in your gig bag or something even if you don't use it very often.

What can I say, it holds the strings down at each of the frets. Its very hard to mess up a capo, you'd have to really try make something awful if that was the goal but chances are it would still work, so basically what I'm saying is its a good one.

If your after a capo this is a good one to get, it gets you through anything your playing with no bother. hope this helps

Just what I needed
Jazzbass1946 24.12.2019
I'm not really a guitar player but needed a capo just for setting up my basses. And that's all I use it for. Perfect product for that purpose.
It looks quite sturdy and since I don't use it on a daily basis I expect it to last quite a long time. I can't think of any negative comment so.... a good little investment.
As usual perfect service from Thomann.

I don’t have any issues with it. It works well.
