It does a very good job as a stand, it doesn't rock around, it is actually very sturdy. It has multiple width adjustment, and the guitar stay up pretty straight, doesn't tilt back a lot, which is great if you want for ex. to put the stand as close to a wall as you need. The guitar headstock will not touch the wall, not even the very tilted back headstock angle of my Les Paul, so that's a nice touch.
The guarding material looks alright, not premium but definitely not cheap, we'll see with time if it indeed protects the nitro finish in the long term, there's no way to tell right now.
But so far, I'm happy with my purchase.

It's sturdy and it doesn't discolor nitro finishes. I bought a second one.

Excellent quality, highly recommended!

After using this stand over time I have discovered that it offers very poor stability for basses with asymmetric bodies, like Jazz Basses. The "translucent" rubber is too hard and slippery. If you place the bass in this stand with the neck leaning just a TINY bit towards the G-string/treble side, the bass will slowly slide sideways and fall to the floor.
The black rubber K&M use on their "regular" stands of the same type is much stickier, and much safer for basses with asymmetric bodies.
I have adjusted my ratings accordingly.
Apart from this problem the stand is excellent. Very good build quality, like most K&M products. But unfortunately not a good choice for basses with asymmetrical bodies.
