p
very good Fender JB copy!
primitivo 21.02.2022
This bass looks nice and plays nice! Roasted maple neck and alder body match the color and laquer is faultless. Body resonates powerfully when practising without an amp. Neck is very comfortable, pickups are good, pots work well. Needed some fretfork and neck adjustment to avoid buzz but after that I really enjoy playing it and feel no difference to US made Fender JB-s.

N
A jazz bass through and through
Nickwolf 22.11.2024
I was looking for a bass as my only instrument.
I really like F type instruments in general... but lately I do not enjoy the quality you get for the price. For this reason I started looking for alternatives and I am glad I found Sire.
This v5 is a jb all the way to the moon and back.
The natural finish and the alder is fantastic and it is strings through!
The neck is very smooth, skinny, the frets are very well finished no sprout or sharp edges that I found.
The tuning machines are a copy of a famous brand (G) and they are well done. However, if ever they become problematic you can find tuning machines from Grover that may fit perfectly and there is no need to send the bass to a technician if you know how to use a screwdriver.
The bridge is simple, but it does all what it needs to do, string height and all the proper adjustment, there is no limitation here.
The nut is bone... C'mon what else can you ask for.
The pickups can be perhaps the weak point, I dont think they are bad... but I prefer silent pickups so this may be then only thing I would upgrade in the future... but no rush the bass sound really good.

EB
Great passive 70's style jazz bass!
Egor Balakirev 31.10.2021
This is my first bass, i wanted to buy a Sire bass (V7 mostly) since I've heard many good things about them. And I'm glad that I procrastinated long enough for this bass to come out because it's perfect for me specwise and looks gorgeous. You can't beat roasted maple neck, block inlays and natural finish on a jazz bass! Fretboard on my bass looks like ordinary maple since it's much more pale compared to the neck body. But it doesn't bother me so much since it's with perfect balance with the color of the body.

I think that the fact that it's passive is only a plus. It has this raw growly sound of 70's jazz bass and can be very smooth too. It's easy to find the exact sound you want without endless rotating nobs on preamp. No issues with pickups and electronics.

The neck is excellent, rolled edges makes it really smooth and comfortable to play. Setup was very good from the start. Easy trust rod access is also very nice feature. It's pretty light for a jazz bass, at least the one I got.

So basically if you want a 70's style jazz bass you can't go wrong with this one. Especially for this price. So go ahead!:)
