Helps with sound production, some interesting tunes

I'm enjoying this book. The pages on playing technique, fingering and scales are invaluable. The tunes are great, some of them new to me, but I would grade them a little more in order of difficulty as it will be a (long) while before I work on the upper register. It assumes the player can already read music well, which I can, but for basic tunes I have had to look at my childhood recorder playing books. Is there a "Tune a Day for Xaphoon"?
