I've found when budget is a concern, it's best to buy the most expensive top of the range products from a company/line that make budget versions, rather than a cheap range from an expensive company. That way, you tend to get good build quality, materials, and innovation, at a price that is usually cheaper than buying a bottom of the range product from an expensive company.
This cymbal bag is no exception. Thomann's own brand are known for being the cheaper option, and whilst I wouldn't buy their extremely cheap cymbal bags, this one still works out good value for money.
Tough, sturdy construction. Good zips. Good design. The separate cymbal compartments allow for good options, and the shoulder straps are great - these are only usually found on expensive bags.
The only negatives are that the hi-hat compartment doesn't have a divider to keep the hi hat cymbals from rubbing against each other, so buy a separate divider or use some other material. The largest compartment does actually have a divider in it that can accommodate three cymbals, but it only comes halfway up the bag, and is only useful in holding the cymbals in place and will not stop them rubbing against each other. This is not too much of a problem due to the other compartments - only worth a thought if you're carrying more than hi-hats, 2x crashes, and a ride. Finally, there are no external pockets or compartments to hold items such as gloves, ear plugs, cymbal dampers, etc.
These negatives do not change my review from being 5 stars, as for the price, it is an excellent choice, and does almost everything I would want from a cymbal bag.
The bags I use for my most expensive and handmade cymbals cost 4+ times as much, so this a fantastic choice if you're not cosseting really expensive cymbals.
